Spritually speaking, what product do you think was the MOST responsible for human civilization?

This product was perhaps most responsible for the beginning of agriculture, irrigation, cities, the invention of the wheel, , curing of ancient illnesses with drugs not "discovered" until 1945, assisted with the construction of the pyramids, providing safe food and drink in areas that had neither during the disease filled Middle Ages, stimulated industry in the US, and provided the template of the assembly line accredited to Ford?

Take your guesses..... I will tell you in a bit, and give you the site for the info.

Update:

So far no one is close...... keep on and try again.

Update 2:

Hint: It is LITERALLY spiritually speaking.

Update 3:

Answer: BEER It was most likely an accidental discovery, but it lead to large scale cultivation of barley, which led to irrigation, and the building of cities, the wheel for transportation, etc. etc. It was on a Discovery Channel show called "How Beer Saved the World". You can get it just by typing that into your search engine. Here is one of the sites: http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/how-beer-saved-the-...

Given that the most probable reason for agriculture was making fermented drinks, I'll go with that.

However, a single internet site is not likely to be a definitive source, especially since we know that various civilizations have developed around the planet. While there is some question as to "why" they developed, the more interesting one is why they succeeded or failed.

Although not the spiritually "correct" answer you wanted, the factually accurate answer is:

    water pipes.

Prior to this invention, the population of any place was limited by the amount of rain that fell there or that could be carried there. There were no cities, because they was no way to get enough water to a city for the population of a city to stay alive.

Water pipe made it possible to bring large amounts of water to a city for drinking and bathing, or to a farm for irrigation.

Beer is no better an answer than any you have been given ( well, other than mosaic law and Velveeta). While beer may have been a necessary cause of the things you refer to, it is not a sufficient cause, beer in the absence of fire, tools, language, etc, would have resulted in none of the things you refer to. Perhaps you should study "causation"

Use of the term "product" implies something produced by humans themselves, if you don't mean that then your wording is imprecise.

Specially-made stone tools would be the first "product" to fit that description.

Fire would be the driving force and energy behind all human invention.

Meat would be the substance most responsible for human civilization since it wasn't until our progenitors ate meat that we had fat enough to see marked development of our brains.
