Can I bring mini alcohol bottles on board my domestic flight?

I have searched and searched online and what I find is liquids under 3.4 ounces. Then I find where alcohol is listed as something you cannot carry because it's too large, so it must be checked. I cannot find ANYWHERE if I can or cannot bring mini bottles on board with me. I fly out in two weeks and hope to find the answer before then, otherwise I'll be chancing it. Then, when they pull it out and make me throw it away, I'll want to ask them, where in the TSA rules does it say I can't have this?! But then I'll be arrested...

Anyways, if someone could please provide me with the specific wording that states I can or cannot bring mini bottles of alcohol on board I would greatly appreciate it! Also, if it matters, I'm flying on Airtran. And no, their website doesn't say anything about it either.

Update:

Actually on that exact link (which I read in full before posting this question) it reads:

Duty free alcohol and other items

Visit www.tsa.gov for more information about Duty Free Items.

Carry-on:

Yes, but some restrictions apply.

Checked:

Yes

Says nothing about size or what the restrictions are. But thanks for your cheeky response ;-)

As long as the type of alcohol isn't over 180 proof.. ( I think it's 180.. i know it's real high ).. it just needs to conform to 311... Each container needs to be less than 3.4 ounces.. all of your containers need to fit into a single one quart bag that can be closed. The bag needs to be out of the carry on for xray. I work for TSA and see mini bottles all the time.. As for security.. it should not be a problem. Each airline may have their own rules as listed above about Airtran.. but I would guess if you are discrete..

All info here is according to the TSA website.

In the US you may bring 3 ounces of alcohol in your carry-on bag with your other liquids in a 1 quart clear plastic bag. Amounts over 3 ounces must be checked. Maximum alcohol content is 140 proof.

In addition, every airline I have flown prohibits consumption of your own carry-on alcohol. My suggestion is buy a soda or juice, and dump the booze into it before boarding the plane to avoid confrontation with flight attendants or other passengers.

    Information current as of 3/17/14

there is not any restrict on bringing alcohol onboard as long as that's interior the three-a million-a million limits. in spite of the shown fact that, the reason you probably did no longer discover something approximately eating it on the plane is using the fact the FAA, no longer the TSA, governs that. The FAA coverage is that passengers can in basic terms drink alcohol on a plane regardless of if it rather is served to them by skill of a flight attendant.

Yes, the Airtran website does tell you their rules. The specific wording states that you cannot bring mini bottles of alcohol on board.

    http://www.airtran.com/policies/permitted_prohibit...

Scroll down to "Permitted Items" and there is a list. On that list it clearly says:

    Alcoholic beverages:

    Carry on = NO.

    Checked = YES.

Minis are 100ml, which is the limit. You may bring them. They go in your one 1-quart bag.

You may not consume them aboard. (If you keep quiet about it, you probably can. I'm not recommending it...)

No. Alcohol is a controlled substance, and it is illegal to bring your own.
