I have lived in central FL all my life (born & raised). I work for the county appraiser near the beach now and absolutely love it! I live with my boyfriend and we have a dog named Bosco. My favorite things to do are go to the beach, theme parks, or just cruise around town with the top off our Jeep. I drive a smart car and that's loads of fun too. I'm in school part time getting my AA in Business Administration.

  • Unemployment Fraud, should I report?

My brother has been on unemployment for about 3 years. He has turned down several jobs and hasn't actually looked for any (my dad got him hooked up with the jobs which he refused). Because he is abusing the system and being a total bum, he is now addicted to pills and alcohol. He is useless by around noon and passes out somewhere around town and then stumbles back to my parents front yard swing where he finishes his night's rest. Therefore, he wouldn't be able to get a job anyways. My issue is that my tax dollars are enabling him to do this. I looked on the Florida Unemployment website and it seems like the only thing you can get in trouble for is if you are working and not claiming your hours. Come on, I'd rather see that occur than this terrible situation. What can I do? I don't want to go through the process of filing a complaint if he's "not doing anything wrong". Any help is appreciated.

  • Where is a good place to eat crawfish in New Orleans?

I have been to NOLA three times before but I'm going again next month and something I haven't found on my own yet is a place that will throw down newspaper and load your table up with crawfish. The kind you have to break apart and suck the head (no pun). My group and I will have a vehicle so distance isn't a big deal. We are staying in the French Quarter. Thanks!

I understand I won't be roaming while in Puerto Rico, however, while in Culebra am I still ok? I just want to be sure AT&T will recognize that I'm still in Puerto Rico and won't charge me for minutes or data. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

  • How to get court documents regarding guardianship of child?

Let me try to make this as short of a story as possible..

Child's parents have both told paternal grandparents that they (grandparents) have custody of their child. DCF has told the paternal grandparents that they have custody over the child as well. However, only the mother and father of the child have been to court. The grandparents don't know what's going on and need to evict the child's father from their home. The child's father has used the fact that the child's primary residence is at the grandparents house, against them, saying they can't kick him (the father) out. Where can the grandparents get legal documents stating where the child belongs and with whom? They want to kick the father out of their home for many drug related and abbusive reasons, but want to keep the grandchild in their home. However, they don't want to break any laws pertaining to the child's case. Everyone involved in the situation lives in Florida, if that helps. Any information is much appreciated! Thank you so much..

  • Can I use a common quote to make club tshirts?

I am getting a Jeep club started and would like to make shirts for our members. My concern is that I could get in trouble for using a saying that I've seen before. For example, "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" or "Go topless" these sayings are always on Jeep shirts, but are they allowed? I have seen several different companies use them so who would have the copyright? My ultimate plan would be to have the sayings on the front with our club's name on the back. I would like to incorporate "Jeep" somewhere by use of a logo or something but I know the logos have strict copyright rules. I have searched around via Google and can't find any copyright info regarding these types of sayings. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated :)

  • Is there a toll free route from Baltimore to Atlantic City?

I'm on vacation in Baltimore and I want to go to Atlantic City for the day. However, I don't have a toll pass thing so I'm worried about getting on a road and having to run a toll. Does anyone know of a toll free route? I'm not worried about time or mileage, just avoiding tolls. Thanks!

  • Can I bring mini alcohol bottles on board my domestic flight?

I have searched and searched online and what I find is liquids under 3.4 ounces. Then I find where alcohol is listed as something you cannot carry because it's too large, so it must be checked. I cannot find ANYWHERE if I can or cannot bring mini bottles on board with me. I fly out in two weeks and hope to find the answer before then, otherwise I'll be chancing it. Then, when they pull it out and make me throw it away, I'll want to ask them, where in the TSA rules does it say I can't have this?! But then I'll be arrested...

Anyways, if someone could please provide me with the specific wording that states I can or cannot bring mini bottles of alcohol on board I would greatly appreciate it! Also, if it matters, I'm flying on Airtran. And no, their website doesn't say anything about it either.

  • Driving through Orlando: Colonial Dr or Lake Underhill at 4:30 on a Friday?

Hoping someone that drives this area could give me their opinion real quick... in about an hour my boyfriend will be traveling from I4 to the East end of Orlando (Avalon Park area on 50). I know the traffic is going to be killer but I'm curious.. which route do you think will be quicker as far as traffic, red lights, etc goes... Take the 50 exit and take that all the way over to Avalon Park? Or Take the Lake Underhill exit off I4 and just jump on one of the connecting roads to get on 50?

TOLL ROADS ARE NOT AN OPTION. He doesn't have a Sunpass and no cash whatsoever. If you are familiar with this area and can give me the best pick I will definitely pick best answer for 10 points. Appreciate it!

  • Does anyone have any experience with Naniqui Guest House in Culebra, Puerto Rico?

I found it by accident snooping around Google maps. The 15 or so photos I found look like cute little place my boyfriend and I would enjoy. It's right on the water. I found just two reviews on Tripadvisor.com and I would just feel more comfortable with a little more information. I understand "you get what you pay for" however, we are not looking to stay in a Hilton. What is important is friendliness of owners, I have read reviews on different hotels on Culebra Island and it seems like a helpful staff/owner is really important. Also, we want to have good views. That's about it. Any information you can share is much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

  • Taxi to Culebra or rent a car? (from San Juan)?

I have been researching for what seems like forever and every site I look at tells me something different. I am looking for real peoples' opinions here. Someone who has made the trip or lives in Puerto Rico, whatever. I am planning to travel to Culebra in July, me and one other person. I am looking for the cheapest way to travel to Culebra. We are flying into San Juan (cheapest flight from Orlando). I have read about flying and taking the Ferry. The ferry I know is just a few dollars but I'm concerned with the ride over to the ferry from San Juan. I have also read that the ferry can be difficult to make and there are long lines, etc. Thanks in advance for ANY advice :)

  • Carpool a charter plane? (Trying to find cheapest way to fly from San Juan to Culebra)?

Is there a way to find out of there are others looking for the same charter plane as I am, and can get a group of strangers together to rent the plane? Sort of like a carpool..

I am looking to fly from San Juan to Culebra in July and the flights are around $130 RT pp, which is great, but tacked ontop of my cost to fly from Orlando to San Juan makes for a pretty high dollar vacation. I have found many charter planes that offer flights from SJ to Culebra but it's just me and my boyfriend. If I could find another couple or a few others to join it would be perfect! Since you have to fly or take the ferry if you want to get to Culebra, I would imagine there would be other people wanting to make the same trip. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks :)

  • Where can I buy just the case for Skyrim (for ps3)?

My boyfriend got Skyrim from Redbox and liked it enough to keep it. But he wants the box with the map and whatever else comes in it. Does anyone know where we can get this? There should be someone out there who doesn't care about keeping it right? I searched eBay and googled but got nothing. Online or a store would be great. Thanks!

  • Should I attend the baby shower?

I work in an office of 104 employees, split up over 3 branches. In the main branch, where most employees are, a woman is having a baby. I'm in the same branch as her but I don't work with her and only met her twice. I've only worked here since the end of October '11. She is in HR. The baby shower invite was sent as a mass email, suggesting food and gifts be brought to this party. It asks for an RSVP by January 17. What should I do?! I work with mostly men in my department so I don't think any of them will go so I won't even know anyone. Thanks!

  • Which TV/internet should I go with? (Will give 10 pts best answer)?

I am moving at the end of this month and trying to make the choice. Here are the details:

First option is DirecTv. Their deal is $73 a month +tax and $37.95 start up fee. This includes 210+ channels, DVR receiver & service, 2 boxes, 3 months free movie channels, and 10 Mbps internet. The downfall: 24 month contract. Which is $20 a month if I break early. Also, this rate is only for 1st year, second year will be $99. a month.

Ok, second option is our local cable provider. Their deal is $114. a month, $50 deposit. This includes 200+ channels (digital cable), DVR receiver and service, 2 boxes, and 10 Mbps internet. No contract.

It basically comes down to paying more to not have a contract, but after I lease this place for one year, I know I'll be moving again and I have no idea if that next place will allow satellite service. Also, is 10 Mbps good internet speed? My boyfriend plays PS3 online, I just use internet for iTunes and homework. Thanks for your input!

  • Where should my boyfriend and I travel to?

We are taking a week off in July and were considering going to Puerto Rico. Since we made these plans, we have heard nothing but negativity about going there. We are looking to spend the week in a quiet, romantic beach house. We live in Flordia so we've considered the Keys, Destin, San Marco Island, or somewhere in the Carribean. We have cruised to the Bahamas before so we don't want to do that again. Plus, cruises aren't exactly the quiet romantic week we're looking for. Looking for suggestions from other travelers or residents of said areas. Some quick info about us: we are in our mid 20s, love trying new/exciting things, enjoy trying new beers and foods from locals, love the beach and water, it will be our 2 year anniversary.

  • Why does my dog lick water off my legs after a shower?

Is this common? He's not thirsty, he has water available to him at all times.. and it's every night, both my boyfriend and my legs. As soon as the shower goes off he darts into the bathroom to get to us. Weird?

  • Need substance/alcohol abuse help for my brother, please help!?

My brother is an alcoholic. He has also done his fair share of illegal drugs. He is now going to a methadone clinic, which was supposed to help him get off oxy-codone pills, but now that's messing him up. He is addicted to the methadone now of course, and he's not supposed to be drinking with it. However, he gets drunk every night. He has lost his house, his wife, and our parents are raising his son. He has also lost his license and his vehicle. He has absolutely nothing except the clothes on his back. When I try to talk to him he cusses me out. He hits our dad and yells at our mother every night. He lives with them but usually just sleeps in a chair on their carport. He doesn't shower, he is basically a bum. He is 35 years old. What can I/ we do to help him? When I see bums on the highway I always think, where's their family? I don't want that to happen to him. We live in the Orlando area, so if anyone knows of somewhere we can get help I would GREATLY appreciate it.
