If there is too much protein in your urine it could be proteinuria as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=proteinuria&fr...

The protein may be due to a filtering problem in the kidneys that are leaking protein into the urine. Common causes are kidney damage from high blood pressure or diabetes.

I was just diagnosed with stage three kidney disease and I have to take many urine tests. I go to the kidney specialists at Mayo in MN and my doctor has told me that high levels of protein in the urine causes scarring in the kidneys (which if you don't treat will cause permanent damage to the kidneys). I recommend you get a creatine test of your urine. That would for sure tell you if your kidneys are doing. Best of luck!
