Ex-Mormons, or Ex-Christians...?
When did you consider yourself ex-mormon or ex-Christian? Did you continue to wear the moniker long after you stopped believing, or did you denounce it the second you believe everything you were taught was false?
Just curious...

I personally don't like the "ex-Mormon" label since it describes what I'm not. I'd rather focus on what I am: a friendly, hopeful Agnostic. Besides, technically I can't use that label anyway because my name is still on the records of the church and I'm in no hurry to have it removed.

I grew up Christian but started having troubles with it around age 15. I remained connected somewhat for several decades to it even though I felt like I wasn't really a true Christian.
I think I was hoping that eventually I would understand it and be at ease with being Christian but it never happened. Eventually I decided I am not Christian and never would be so I should get myself disconnected from it.

I was Catholic for over 40 years. But I started questioning things as early as Jr. High. I stuck with it mostly for the music. I finally started attending UU services and found that Celtic Paganism was a much better spiritual fit for me and I've called myself a UU-Celtic-Pagan ever since.

9th grade I was completely sure, 8th I'd been contemplating it, but i've questioned it since elementary school. I still don't usually mention that I'm not christian though, I dont like getting that much attention

Well, I used to be a christian. I guess I stopped being a christian the moment I succumbed to reality.

It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.
