Who is the Master Worker at Proverbs 8:30-32?

Proverbs 8:30-32 then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, 31 being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things I was fond of were with the sons of men.

Is this verse talking about God, and if Jesus is God, then who is the Master Worker, and who is besides who?

Thanks

One of Isaiah’s prophecies about God’s Servant sheds light on the intimate relationship between Jehovah and his firstborn Son during the Son’s prehuman existence. The Servant himself reveals that Jehovah continually trained him, saying: “He awakens my ear to hear like the taught ones [“disciples,”].” (Isa. 50:4) During all that time, Jehovah’s Servant listened to his Father and learned from him, becoming a submissive disciple. What a unique privilege to be taught by the Creator of the universe!

In this prophecy, the Servant speaks of his Father as “the Sovereign Lord Jehovah.” This shows that the Servant had learned the fundamental truth of Jehovah’s universal sovereignty. Indicating his perfect submission to his Father, he stated: “The Sovereign Lord Jehovah himself has opened my ear, and I, for my part, was not rebellious. I did not turn in the opposite direction.” (Isa. 50:5)

He “came to be beside [Jehovah] as a master worker” in the creation of the material universe and man. This “master worker” was “glad before [Jehovah] all the time, being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things [God’s Son] was fond of were with the sons of men.”—Prov. 8:22-31.

This training received by the Servant and his fondness for mankind stood him in good stead when he came to earth and faced severe opposition. He continued to delight to do his Father’s will, even in the face of bitter persecution. (Ps. 40:8; Matt. 26:42; John 6:38) Throughout his trials on earth, Jesus was confident of his Father’s approval and support. As was foretold in Isaiah’s prophecy, Jesus was able to say: “The One declaring me righteous is near. Who can contend with me? . . . Look! The Sovereign Lord Jehovah himself will help me.” (Isa. 50:8, 9) Jehovah certainly did help his faithful Servant throughout his ministry on earth, as another prophecy of Isaiah shows.

The following quotes are in reference to Proversbs 8:30.

(Genesis 1:26) And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.”

(John 1:3) All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence. What has come into existence

(John 17:5) So now you, Father, glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.

(Colossians 1:16) because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him.

(Isaiah 42:1) Look! My servant, on whom I keep fast hold! My chosen one, [whom] my soul has approved! I have put my spirit in him. Justice to the nations is what he will bring forth.

(Matthew 3:17) Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

Following the Duay translation, one would tend to think that there are many contradictions in the Holy Scriptures - this would mean that it is all a pack of lies. Throw the book away.

    Not so!

There are no contradictions in the Holy Scriptyres, only misinterperations, biased to the translators pre-conceived beliefs.

One thing I do not understand about the Douay Version, is why does it delete Gods name Jehovah>

Source(s): All said and done, the Scriptures clearly identify TWO persons, One the Father, Almighty God. The second His Son, who does the bidding of His Father.

John 1:2 He was with God in the beginning.

John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

John 1:2 states he was with God so it rules out the Master Worker being God , that only leaves Jesus to be the Master Worker.

Note being the master worker does not make one the employer.

problem is Darren is that whatever we show the truth from the Bible these people will not believe because they are blinded by false religion and the Father of a lie Satan.

We know who the master worker is and was but they cant see truth even when Jehovah brings the earth to it knees.

We had 112 in attendance at our Memorial which was after 9pm and we heard there was over 19 million+ in attendance in 2011.

Illustration: a boat with oars one oar has faith written on it and other has faith written on it. If you row only with faith you go around in circles and if you row in works you know the answer so we have to row with both oars just to get to your destination.

Source(s): (James 2:24-26) . . .YOU see that a man is to be declared righteous by works, and not by faith alone. 25 In the same manner was not also Ra′hab the harlot declared righteous by works, after she had received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way? 26 Indeed, as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. How many so called Christians have deep faith but don't produce the works

We know it to be no other than Jesus Christ but the twisted minds that are blinded by Satan will say that God can do anything even lie because the Bible says that No one can see God and live with not stipulation like but if i am human for and you see me you can live. Well thousands of people saw Jesus and i dont recall any of them dying on the spot. So wake up people God and Jesus are not the same.

Context shows that the Master Worker is Jesus and the One he was beside was God.

The understanding that "Wisdom" in Prov. 8:22-32 is, in reality, figurative of Jesus in his pre-human existence has always existed in the majority of churches that call themselves Christian. Many Bible scholars (trinitarians included) have even said that this connection was made in the New Testament at 1 Cor. 1:24. For a list of quotes from trinitarian scholars admitting this, see:

    "Prov. 8:22-30 "Wisdom" and Christ"

    http://examiningthetrinity.blogspot.com/2009/10/pr...

The scriptures show that Jehovah God (and only Jehovah God) has always existed (Ps. 90:2). Since he is from eternity and has obviously always been wise, then Jehovah's own personal wisdom has always existed; it never was created or produced. And since wisdom cannot exist apart from a personality who is capable of using it, and, since the "Wisdom" of Prov. 8:22-30 came into existence before the rest of creation, it cannot represent the wisdom of any other creature (whether angels or men) but a "firstborn Son". (John 1:18; Rev. 3:14; Col. 1:15)

As the above referenced Scriptures show, Jesus had a beginning. He was himself the only thing directly created by God and then helped (like a Master Worker) in bringing forth everything else into existence. (John 1:3,10; 1 Cor. 8:6)

Note even the following TRINITARIAN translations of Prov. 8:22:

    1. "The LORD [Jehovah] CREATED me at the beginning of his work" - RSV, and NRSV. (Footnote in NRSV says "Or [created] me as the beginning [of his work].").

2."The LORD MADE me..." - MLB

3."The Lord FORMED me..." - Living Bible.

    4. "I was MADE in the very beginning." - Good News Bible.

5."Yahweh [Jehovah] CREATED me..." - Jerusalem Bible and NJB.

6."The LORD CREATED me..." - New English Bible and REB.

7."Jehovah FRAMED me first" - Byington.

8."The LORD CREATED me..." - The Reader's Digest Bible, 1982.

9."I was the first thing MADE, long ago in the beginning." - Holy Bible: Easy-to-Read Version, World Bible Translation Center, 1992.

10."The Eternal [Jehovah] FORMED me first of his creation" - Moffatt.

11."The Lord MADE me the beginning [arkhe] of his ways for his works" - The Septuagint, Zondervan, 1976.

12."The LORD CREATED me as the first of his creations" - Holy Bible From the Ancient Eastern Text

    --------------------------------------…

The fact that Jesus was "beside" God describes Jesus as a separate person from God. This relates to John 1:1 in the respect that there too, Jesus was described as being "WITH" God.

Count Leo Tolstoy, the famous Russian novelist and religious philosopher, said concerning this:

"If it says that in the beginning was the...Word, and that the Word was...WITH God, it is impossible to go on and say that it was God. If it was God, it could stand in no relation to God." - The Four Gospels Harmonized and Translated, p. 30.

Prov. 8:30, along with John 1:1 clearly phrases God as a *separate person* from the Word (Jesus). And since Jesus is written and identified as a separate person from God (not just the Father), then that would positively exclude him as being God.

    Proverbs 8:30-32 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

    30 I was with him forming all things: and was delighted every day, playing before him at all times;

31 Playing in the world: and my delights were to be with the children of men.

32 Now therefore, ye children, hear me: Blessed are they that keep my ways.
