How do I survive this job?

I know I should be grateful to be working, and I am, but right now I am so close to quitting. I'm only working for the money. Everyone here makes it so hard. I know I sound whiny. I'm exhausted and discouraged. Any helpful ideas?

Update:

My children are grown so really I only have this job, which I have to keep because otherwise we will lose our house. But I’ve been here 1-1/2 years and I never stopped looking for a better job. Unfortunately, I can’t work my way up since this is a place of worship and the boss is a clergy person. So I can’t be promoted nor would I really want to be. Mostly I just try to keep my head down and get on with it. However, I have an ulcer, depression, and other conditions which were caused by the stress or worsened by the stress. It may be hard to believe but a place of worship is not all “sweetness and light”.

"I'm only working for the money."...Aren't we all? It's not like most of us have million dollar trust funds, but we decide to work anyway. Now, is it? Yes, some of us love our jobs and that's wonderful; and some of us don't. But we all do what we have to do....and put up with what we have to put up with...so that we can keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs. And if that means putting up with an imperfect work environment, then so be it!

Suggestions? Try to do something to make things better right now...today. Or work yourself up until you're the boss, and then you get to make the rules and set a better environment. Or just find a better job. In the meantime, just remember that it's just a job and you need the money. Been there and done that, so I do KNOW how it feels. BTW, I worked for a couple of years to get my boss fired so that I could take her place. Horrible two years, but very nice after that.

You have 2 jobs, the children and where you work. It is very difficult not to be thinking about the kids and to have patience with all the things that can snarl up the work.
