i need a break VS. we need a break?

what do you guys think is the difference if a guy says one of these to his gf?

which one do you think is worse?

    They both have their own level of pain associated with them which makes it a little difficult to say which is worse. "I need a break" will probably make a girl feel like she did something wrong. She might feel like she drove him crazy and that he was a terrible girlfriend. "We need a break" can also hurt because not only are you making a decision for her, she still knows that it must be something she did which leads back to the feelings of "I need a break"

    "I need a break" is 10x worse than "We need a break." Saying "Ineed a break" is pretty much the equivalent of I need to get away from you, you're annoying, etc. "We need a break" implies that the relationship still has a chance, but time apart could make it stronger and no one is at fault. Big difference. (:
