Some of us always listened to him - critically, sometimes tolerantly, but always listened. He is less guilty of pernicious bullshit than Thatcher, Blair, Scameron, Glugg, President Muff, President Obama, Hillary von Clintonpanzer and many, many others. Mind you, that leaves plenty of scope for foolishness, but he strikes me as no worse a clown than, for instance, Barmy Boris - and the people I've mentioned are far, far worse than mere fools.

I don't see that his hobnobbing with Middle Eastern dictators, some of whom were actually created and armed by the State Department and the CIA, is any worse than our imperial masters bankrolling the Mujahedeen - yes, and the Taliban - against the Soviet Union, or, come to that, the Batista regime in Cuba, the bloody-handed Zionists, the Pinochet regime, Gorbachev and Yeltsin's band of traitors, the Saudi sadists and many others.

And I think we ought also to bear in mind that had Gorgeous George been leading the Labour Party in 1997 (and they would still have been returned that year with a landslide majority, on the basis that they were not the Tories) no British soldier would have died in Iraq or Afghanistan, university degree courses would still be free, NHS hospitals would still be staffed by NHS employees, British Rail would have been renationalised, there would have been no ID cards farce, and we would have laughed at his dafter moments rather than being convulsed with hatred at that smirking public school brat Blair.

Perhaps the best thing he has done, though, is to show us that a decent socialist can stand against a Newscorp Labor PLC Tory and win. In doing this, Respect has taken up the soul and the honour of the Labour Party from where Blair and Mandy and Pink Ed had thrown them into the gutter.

To be honest I think people like George Galloway are playing a very dangerous game, because essentially they are one-trip-ponies and the people who follow and vote for em will want results, not a voice's in the wilderness.

Sadly, I doubt it. Had he been in power for the last 12 years, we would not have wasted so much money on wars in the Middle East, nor would the bankers have got the hold on our economy that they have. People forget that the only reason he was anxious to build alliances with muslim states was because, they, like him, wanted to resist takeover by the global capitalists and super rich Zionists who now control the Western world.

Yes, he could have done some things differently, but he is one of those very rare people, an honest politician.

Georgie is very good at preaching to the converted, but that's the easy part of politics. What he is completely useless at is converting the unpreached, and that's the difference between a poor politician like him and a brilliant one like Ronnie Reagan or Blair.

To the general population he's a big toss*r, people don't like "angry bloke" politicians.

If it is "Why not join the George Galloway fan club ?" the answer is quite simple. Look at his history, his friends, his cronies and you will notice that he changes his mind more often than some people change their shirts! He would say or do anything to anyone to get elected. He is a one-off and so was his hollow victory.

No, i am afraid he has no influence at all,he has done too much in the past to have any credit,that film of him crawling round saddam Hussein,that will always haunt him,he only won the by election because people have got fed up with the other main parties,he will lose the seat at the next election.

Oh i think george could make a much bigger impact on politics if he chose too,than his recent in win bi-election . I reckon george ought to become leader of the scottish labour party and then stand in the next elections up there, im sure he'd defeat that numpty alex salmond.
