Why is contraception seen as a women's issue?

Now obviously when talking about the pill and such, these are taken by the woman, but it takes a man to make a baby. So any man who wants to have sex with his wife/girlfriend as much as possible, should be in support of contraception, because without it, he wouldn't get laid very often. Any couple who want to delay having children or only have a couple need to either use birth control, or not have sex. Or, there is the rythm method which involves not having sex at least half the month (and which fails a lot of the time).

So really, the war on contraception is not a war on women but a war on sex. Any man who wants to have sex for reasons other than becoming a father would not want contraception taken away, would he?

The contraception that also provides the best protection against STDs is the condom and that's usually considered the man's responsibility.

True, it's the woman who gets pregnant, but she is also the one who has the right to choose an abortion. The man has no say in whether or not he pays child support, so, I certainly disagree that it's the women who has all the responsibility.

Feminists want to get the pill paid for because that's the contraception they typically purchase and they'd rather the rest of us pay for it, than have to pay for it themselves. That's a state agenda they've had for some time. It's blown up lately, but it is not a new issue.

Well, in the way this battle is going it's kind of hard not to realize that the GOP is aiming for women, even if they're getting everyone else as well.

Though in truth, it's a war on human rights.

Not only women can get pregnant, there are people who don't identify as women who can get pregnant.

Not only women are effected by the fact that they can't get birth control, just about everyone would be effected. As you said, men like to have sex without the worry of children and even married couples like to plan when they have children

Not only women are effected by the war against Planned Parenthood, just about everyone living in poverty is.

Not just people who can get pregnant are effected by the fact that birth control is being attacked, because various forms of the pill birth control are actually used for medical reasons.

In Wisconsin, they're trying to repeal equal pay rights.

In attacking abortion, contraception, Planned Parenthood, and just about everything else, the GOP has basically declared war on everyone whether they realize it or not.

  • They wrongly assume that it is somehow only their concern whether or not they are on contraception, and then assume that it's the man's concern the moment they become pregnant, even if they have not bothered to tell him they are no 'protected'.

The point is that it is the concern of both - and silly emotive nonsense like:- "It's none of his business - it's MY body!" don't wash when it becomes HIS body that has to provide for a child.

Point is - don't sleep with a girl who won't confirm she's on contraception and don't go bareback riding without it yourself . I always told my son to always make sure he did his part - that way he was covered (ratchets eyebrows).

    Now I'm a grandfather!

I have to agree with you, and any man who doesn't want to pay child support, should, too. It's cheaper in the long run.

Ultimately, the woman is the person who is pregnant, so she better make sure she doesn't get pregnant if she doesn't want any kids...any man who is against preventing the use of contraception is extreme in his views.

Unless it's a married couple, THEN they can decide if they want to let nature take it's course or use contraception.
