How can I increase my stamina and endurance?

I need to improve on my stamina and endurance because I'm having NAPFA 2.4 KM run next month.

I'm a 17 years old female. My height is 1.56 cm and my weight is 50 kg.

I'm active in sprinting only. I did try jogging long distance but it seems like my breathing is the problem no matter how my mind tells my body not to stop. Sometimes jogging long distance, my calf muscle become weak, no strength.

    Increasing your endurance is more a mental thing then something that is dictated by your body. In terms of the breathing problem and stamina there really in no quick fix, it takes time and training to gain stamina. Your just going to need to keep jogging longer distances and start to build the strength of your lungs. The second part the weakness your experiencing in your calf will require you to probably first increase the strength of your calf's, then just like my answer to the first part you will need to just continue the long distance runs until you have conditioned your body to that style exercise. Usually though I would say you would most likely have to choose either sprinting or long distance. I don't think it would be likely to be fully successful at both at the same time.

    Hi, I'm a move nation runner too! I'm so completely happy that you are taking over this distinct painfully robust game! When I first began monitor in 7th grade, I not ever as soon as made a meet.     The only way to improve your endurance is to do endurance work.

    You can be much better in a month if you are consistent and train.

    Run easy, and do it at least 4 to 5 times each week.

    Relax, don't stress yourself.

    You will get better.

    Run every other day and track your pace per km. Once a week, make your run a tempo run or an interval run. A tempo run is where you run a pace about 30 seconds faster than your normal pace for a half km and then your normal pace for a half km and alternate that for 3-5 kms total. The next week do intervals where you alternate sprinting and jogging for 3-5 kms. I use telephone poles or mailboxes in my subdivision as markers to sprint between. If you're really motivated, on your running rest days you can crosstrain with simple body weight exercises like pushups, crunches, squats, lunges and burpees.
