Microsoft Safety Scanner -- seems to be frozen on "cleaning" -- what should I do?
I installed Microsoft Safety Scanner because my computer seemed to be slow. AVG had not found any threats. After running for 13 hours, MSS said it found 61 threats. I clicked the button to put it in cleaning mode. It's been there for two hours or more with no further messages. Is it working or frozen? My computer is still running as slowly as it was while it was scanning. What should I do?
It stopped cleaning after 3 hours and was fine. I think it is working faster now. It took long enough, and I did not have to reinstall the software.
