It's a small company and everyone was invited. It's a home wedding, and I have no idea what they are spending on food. They don't have much money, and neither do I. I will be going alone. I like them, but I don't feel I can afford too much. The wedding is close by and won't cost much to attend. I am going to give a gift card. How much should I give? I have an old Yard Machines 22" push mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine. It conks out after I use it for 10 mins and I can't start it again til the next day. My neighbor who repairs them did everything else, cleaned the carburetor, changed the spark plug, cleaned the gas tank, etc., but now he says I should take it to the repair shop and it could cost $65 -- but if it's that much, I'd get a new one. Also, the shop is closed this week. So, if anybody knows, I'd appreciate it.

I installed Microsoft Safety Scanner because my computer seemed to be slow. AVG had not found any threats. After running for 13 hours, MSS said it found 61 threats. I clicked the button to put it in cleaning mode. It's been there for two hours or more with no further messages. Is it working or frozen? My computer is still running as slowly as it was while it was scanning. What should I do?

I have 12 x 12 slate tiles, slightly uneven in thickness. I need about 15 square feet of tile on the floor to put a wood stove on, and another 35 square feet on the wall behind it. The tiles have to be cut around the stovepipe in the wall. There is some fake brick stuff on the wall to remove first, put down tile backer, then tiles and grout and trim edges with 1/4 round. This sounds like a smallish job to me, only 50 sq ft, but tile guy says 4 days, $30/hr = $960 total. Is that too much? How long should it take? I saw some estimates that said $5 sq/ft. Okay, add a couple of hours for demo, but still sound high. What do you think?

I have internet only, no cable tv and want to watch web videos on tv, not just Netflix, also Youtube and hulu/fancast. My laptop is old, but I see new HDTVs for not too much $, that say they connect to the web -- do they need a modem or is some kind of "set-top box" or modem built in? If they need a modem, can it be connected wirelessly so I can have it in a different room than my laptop?

Do I need to use primer? If so, what kind? Can I use Rustoleum barbecue paint (black)? Thanks for your help. Oven door is not scratched up, just horrible color.

The B-I-N website says if I clean the cabinets with mineral spirits, then wash with 50/50 ammonia and water, then prime with B-I-N, and use an oil topcoat, I don't have to sand. Has anybody tried this? Did it work?

I have knotty pine cabinets that are beat up and I want to paint them. I have two questions, first, what should I use to fill gouges in the surface -- someone suggested Bondo rather than spackle. Is this a good idea? Second, if I use oil primer, do I need to sand the finish first? If so, can I use Liquid Sandpaper? What would you suggest? I want to paint them white over the current finish.
