If Germany used the same WWII Tactics today, would they be considered a Terrorist Organization?

We all know what the Nazis did during World War Two. I simply want to know if they did that again in another World War, would they be considered Terrorist for doing so?

Also, did the U.N. place a law against the illegal persecution and execution of citizens based on religion? I thought they did, but cannot find it.

The forerunner of the United Nations was the League of Nations, an organization conceived in similar circumstances during the first World War, and established in 1919 under the Treaty of Versailles "to promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security." The International Labour Organization was also created under the Treaty of Versailles as an affiliated agency of the League. The League of Nations ceased its activities after failing to prevent the Second World War.

The name "United Nations", coined by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt was first used in the Declaration by United Nations of 1 January 1942, during the Second World War, when representatives of 26 nations pledged their Governments to continue fighting together against the Axis Powers. The United Nations officially came into existence on 24 October 1945, when the Charter had been ratified by China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and by a majority of other signatories. United Nations Day is celebrated on 24 October each year. As you can see the U.N. did not exist until after the end of WW 2.

Based upon the sheer numbers of those that died during the Holocaust I believe they would be consider a terrorist organization. The first group of numbers represent the population before the Holocaust and the second group represent the number of people killed.

The Allied terror bombing against civilians would be an act of genocide and terrorism, the expulsion of Germans from the East an act of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

One principle would be implemented today: Alleged atrocities and genocides would be investigated forensically correct and by an independent authority. This procedure is necessary to avoid exactly the entry of the present question: "We all know. what.." What do you really know? Do you know about the Zionist/SS cooperation, Haavara or US Eugenics? If not you know nothing- Ask 1000 people what they know and you will get 1000 different answers. Everybody seems to know a little bit but we all in reality know nothing. Everything we know is from one side having being involved in the conflict and having had a genuine interest to accuse and blame the other side. Where would be be today if our only information source about Iraq would have been George Bush?

Another difference would exist today: The accused would have at least some right to defend himself. Like in the O.J. Simpson case the court would have to disrespect all evidence brought in by the prosecution because the prosecutor was caught amending and suppressing evidence (see below).

    no.

Germany was a sovereign nation - terrorist groups aren't. Their method of assault (blitzkrieg) is not akin to terrorism either. As much as people dislike Nazi actions, the things they did were authorized by the ruling government which makes them very different from terrorists - although their actions are no less morally wrong.

The scary thing about terrorism is there is no state to blame when the attacks happen.

This is a little complicated, so you have to break the question down some.

As far as the tactics of battle and warfare that the Germans used, those are not terribly popular today, but they are not illegal. For a full-scale war between fully industrialized nations, the way that the war was fought was necessary. Some could say that the Allies acted improperly in the Firebombing of Dresden or the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but I think that is only due to the way that war is now viewed. To stop and industrial nation, you have to take out the industry, and that means that civilians will be killed.

As far was what the Nazis did in treatment of prisoners of war, there were cases in which that could be considered to have violated the Geneva convention (the execution of many of the escaped prisioners in the "Great Escape"), so those would have been "war crimes."

As far as the treatment of those in the "death camps," those were plainly "war crimes." That's why many of the German leaders were executed after the Neurembourg Trials.

The thing is that none of those actions were considered "terrorist." The entire idea hadn't been invented at that point, so there were no terrorists then. A terrorist generally refers to someone that does not represent a nation, but a movement or a group.

I think that the UN Human Rights Act makes persecution based on religious reasons illegal.
