Where can I get deer blood?

I'm looking to train my Boxer to track blood for locating wounded deer. The problem is, I need deer blood, and I didn't save any from any of my kills this year. Is there some website where I can order some? I don't think butchers keep that stuff on hand or anything or I would have tried that already.

Contact your local deer processing butchers, I am sure they wouldn't mind filling up a few jars for ya. Otherwise ya might have to search the roads for roadkill deer.

I have tried getting deer blood from pigs and cows, but I did not have any luck. I would think that deer are the only thing that produces/provides deer blood. I would think most any blood would work for your needs. A local livestock processor could probably collect some pig or cow blood when they kill and animal.

Just find a deer and offer it some coupons if it donates blood, or just give it some lead and take the blood yourself. Knowing that you cannot profit off game you probably can't buy deer blood.

A piece of hide or tarsal gland works just as well but it'll be hard to get anything at this time of year.
