my roommate is so annoying!!?
we don't hang out outside the room - at all - but whenever we're in the room together she;s just really irritating. she's a math major and she constantly makes references to others being stupid, inferior, etc. which is really annoying, because i'm an english-ir major.
she just constantly makes annoying comments like 'shameful!' or 'you always make REALLY good decisions' or 'that's embarrassing for you'..when it doesn't even make sense..like i'll say, the party was good but the bouncer couldn't find my name until i spelled it (innocuous) and she'll reply with 'omg that's SO embarrassing for you. i would just not go to parties if i were you.'
it doesn't even make sense because she's social but NEVER goes out, and her attitude is p*ssing me off!! more so because it seems like envy more than anything - she always makes comments about what i'm wearing (i wear nice clothes), my hair if i get it done, etc - just really rude.
idk how to deal with it, because i'm sick of rolling my eyes internally and giving her fake smiles! and i don't want to all-out say 'shut the f up!'

She sounds like she is jealous. Stick it out for a few more weeks and get another roommate next semester. Got to the library, cafeteria, anywhere she isn't to give yourself some space.

well you nshould try talking to her and be stern say look i think you need to be more nice or mind your own business mroe im sick of you saying things like ( insert comments here ) to me. its just plain rude. see what she says if you can work it out than good but if not than you need to try to get a move out plan like sublet your room to someone else. and find another roomie. if thats not an option and youve already tried being nice and cant move out then fight fire with fire be rude right back at her!

next time i wouldnt give her a fake smile id just ignore her and see if she gets the hint. and if she asks you whats wrong id be straight up with her and tell her in a not-so-mean way that shes bothering you by saying all these little comments that she should just keep to herself cuz shes really bothering you by saying something all the time.
