How does god KNOW he's the only god?

How does he know that all his power and his omnipotence and his knowledge of eternity and so forth weren't implanted in him by some other unseen creator, even higher up the chain? Like, another god pulling the strings. 'Our' god can't prove that's not the case, can he?

And if he can't know for sure that there isn't some other being above him... how can he be all-knowing?

Yeah, if you don't know for sure that you know everything, then you don't know everything.

"Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): If there were other gods along with Him, as they say, then had they sought a way against the Lord of the Throne. "

"Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any God along with Him; else would each God have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege. "

It all comes down to this, just because you cannot prove something does not mean it does not exist. Since you cannot prove or disprove this theory this is kind of a hard question to answer.
