Can non-surface piercings reject?
I was informed by two people I know that all piercings can reject, but I'm awfully confused, as I've never heard of this before. So can non-surface piercings reject? Like lip piercings, nostril, septum, etc. I'm kind of thinking if they can reject, they reject much like dermal anchors (pimple like bump, puss, etc)? But maybe I'm wrong? So can anyone tell me if and how non-surface piercings reject?

Yes, regular piercings can reject. Although, migration is more common than rejection.
Migration is when a piercing moves from it's original position (it might look like it's rejecting and can possibly lead to rejection). Rejection is when your body completely forces the jewelry out.
Standard piercing can reject/migrate for various reasons. Improper jewelry, poor placement, and trauma are a few causes. Pretty much the same things that can cause a surface piercing to reject.
You can minimize the chances of rejection/migration if you go to a professional, use correct placement (a reputable and experienced piercer will know the proper placement), and use jewelry suited for that specific piercing.

I suppose they can, the body heals in amazing ways, but not as easily as surface piercings. I've had 2 eyebrow, 1 nipple, and 2 dermals reject. None of my piercings experienced any symptoms. The skin just kind of thinned out until there was nothing covering the piercing.

If they go through cartilage, it's not likely, though if it gets infected, it's wise to just remove it anyways. But with cartilage, you have more than just skin holding the piercing in place. Anywhere where it's just skin, yes, they can reject for some people. It usually does start as an angry red bump, due to infection, poor aftercare, or your body just doesn't want a foreign piece of metal in it (and tries to force it out like it's immune system is trained to do), and can turn into a keloid scar if the jewelry isn't removed and allowed to heal properly.

ihave 3 piercings in each ear, a cartilage on my right ear, a tragus in my left, a lip ring on the right bottom side (labret) & a nose piercing on the left. ipierced them all myself. ipierced the left side of my nose, then moved it to the right. it didn't leave a bump or anything. then ipierced my lip on the right, & moved it back to the left. there is a small bump on the right inside. none of them rejected, it just was pierced & left a notch just like a closed up ear piercing. ihave had none of my non-surface piercings reject ever. the only piercing ihad that rejected was when ipierced my belly button myself. it didn't reject yet, but it was crooked so itook it out. igot it pierced by raining ink, & they are very unsanitary ifound out. the day igot it it formed a pus bubble in the middle which ipopped, then it bled from there for a month so itook it out & let it heal up. iwent to lone wolf 3 days ago & got it repierced & it is fine now. it is a surface piercing though, so as you may know they are prone to rejection but mine hasn't. anyways, to answer your question, no. ido not believe a non-surface piercing can reject, but i'd check with your piercer if you are concerned. hope ihelped. (:
