There advantages/disadvantages to both. For gaming, crt is still best for gaming with no input lag an better color representation.

    Here iis some good reading.

LCD can have a better display from CRT as it has very small pixels that can adjust themselves to almost any color (Depends on the Graphic card or the processor Graphics If they can support that color).

But they are not rough and tough.A small bump can damage their pixels.

But CRT's are not. They are totally rough and tough and have a higher life expectancy than LCD's.

But It is not good at all as it consumes higher Electricity, Have More weight, Consumes more space Which is not good.

They are also not good for gaming and designing Use as they cannot support High resolutions whereas LCD's and LED's can.

As for all hardware there are advantages and disadvantages.

CRT has been replaced by LCD and other flat screen monitors because:

    - CRT are heavy

    - CRT quality is lower

    - CRT size is huge

    - LCD does not come with a huge magnet and tv-tube. (so no risk of an imploding screen)

CRT is out of production or nearly out of production.

Then no longer manufacturer CRT monitors so you would have to locate and purchase a old, used one. LCD monitors deliver better resolution and a much sharper picture. Also, LCD screens do not emit any UV light, which makes them much easier on your eyes.

The article was probably written ten years ago when LCDs were still inferior to CRTs.

In the modern world LCDs have higher resolutions, better contrast ratios, more power efficient, more space efficient, etc etc.

CRTs did their job well, but now they are outdated and there are better options on the market.

CRT (cathode ray tube) uses a massive tube housed behind the screen to shoot light at the screen. It is much wider than an LCD (liquid crystal display) monitor which uses liquefied crystalline which reacts to electrical signals passed across it to display colors

It's most likely a moot point since I haven't seen a CRT monitor for sale in years.

Go for LCD. CRTs are totally outdated.

Does it really matter? CRT's are outdated anyways.
