If we were created by a perfect god, then why are we imperfect?

Man was created perfect in the form of the first Adam, but he chose to disobey God and bring sin, disease, corruption and death into this world and the whole human race.

Therefore, we are all born imperfect through the first Adam's Original sin and that's why Jesus died on the Cross and said that we must be born again, spiritually the second time, through Him - the second man or last Adam.

He is perfect and we can be perfect too and saved incidentally, but only IN CHRIST who is our righteousness and Life

The logic doesn't follow. Only God can be perfect, therefore by definition no human can be perfect in the sense you mean.
