How high should I install a bathouse on my home?
I got it from Lakeside Collection and it is naked wood with a greenish powdery residue on it (waterproofing?) I'm not sure if I should paint it to waterproof and secure it or leave it as is? It has a metal roof. I also know it should be in 8 hrs of sunlight at least. I would like to know how high to install it as well. Thanks!

DO NOT PAINT IT! Ask the supplier the correct height. I know it is well over 10 feet

I work for Lakeside Collection and was drawn to this thread in regards to your product question. I wanted to answer your questions for you. The stain on the product is an anti-crack stain. I hope this assists with any decision to paint over the stain. In addition, it is recommended to hang your new bat house 15 feet or higher.
