  • Should we trust this Psychiatrist and nurse?

My daughter was out on Xanax for anxiety and he recently upped her dose to 2 mg a day and verbally told her to do this but it's written as take one .5 twice a day. He then said he'd write for whatever works for her. But--I called them to find out how she should be given these because I didn't know if I should give all at once or space then out. The nurse just called me but I didn't answer because SHE BLOCKED HER NUMBER. It showed as unknown. I figured it was a telemarketer. Well she left a message on how she should take this Xanax and I'm saving this voicemail forever because I find it fishy that she would block the number?! Am I being paranoid? I feel like they're trying to save their asses if she goes off the deep end and maybe blame me that I'm giving it to her wrong but Ive been following their instructions perfectly!!

  • Is this the depression talking?

16 year old daughter took overdose of Advil pm and is now hospitalized. She's been there for 3 days. Yesterday she wanted to come home but today says coldly: "I don't want to come home and I don't miss you". She's been unhappy for a long time and is on a lot of medication. It's like she's completely a different person! We live in Alabama. What are her options if she still feels this way after the weekend is over?? This is the most gut wrenching thing a parent can go through.

  • Will my hermit crab be ok despite losing his big pincher?

I thought it was dying and checked him with a toothpick to see if he was or if I could pull him out. He seemed a bit stiff and I was able to get him loose and in the process he lost his big pincher--I didn't have to use force. He shed his exoskeleton and I just read that this is normal and he'll eventually munch on it for the calcium. I just wanted to know if he will maybe grow this back hopefully and will he be ok now that we won't disturb him? There is another one in his cage but he's not bothering him.

  • Should I confront my 15 yr old daughter about finding a diet supplement tucked in leg warmers in her drawer?

She's already very thin and gets picked on for it. I got this stuff for my dad originally to lose weight since he's heavy, called Auyerslim. He didn't like it so he have it back to me and I've had it in my med cabinet for a while thinking I may want to try it it I feel I need to sometime before the exp date. Idk what to think.

  • Should we try to move or stay and see what happens?

We are a family of 4--2 daughters, one who is 14 and the other 11. I also have a son who is grown and on his own but we moved to the south in 2006 (actually since 2003 in SC) then since 2006 in Alabama. When we first got here, I had my girls in girlscouts since they weren't the sporty type. I had my youngest also in dance and she discovered she didn't want to stick with it. My older daughter made a few close friends upon moving to Alabama and so far only 1 has really stuck by her. The others have moved away to different districts. My youngest daughter is shy as well and I thought by us being here she would've found her way by now as she is in 5th grade but STILL she is having a hard time making close friends. She is in band and says she tries to talk to people but they don't seem to want to be bothered with her. She is beautiful, but is quiet. She is also very smart. I just don't know how to help her. We are all having problems here (upon first arriving, we were all sociable and fit in pretty well) but after a while, we've all become reclusive and I can see the depression setting in in all of us. My oldest is on medication for depression and also to help her focus for add. She is in advanced classes and is also smart. She also doesn't want to do what most of her peers are doing for example, attracting boys, thankfully not doing drugs, after schools sports, etc. She likes to go on her computer apps and play around there but as far as socializing, no. This scares me and I'm not sure why it got this bad. I'm starting to think it's the area we are in..probably because we aren't conforming to the bible belt southern traditional behaviors?? I was active in the girlscouts until another controlling mom (now the service area manager) has treated me terribly to the point where her daughter has appologized for her mother's behavior. To this day her daughter and mine are the best of friends and her mother always tries to find excuses to keep her from hanging out with her!! I don't get it...why people have to be so anal and mean!!!

  • How high should I install a bathouse on my home?

I got it from Lakeside Collection and it is naked wood with a greenish powdery residue on it (waterproofing?) I'm not sure if I should paint it to waterproof and secure it or leave it as is? It has a metal roof. I also know it should be in 8 hrs of sunlight at least. I would like to know how high to install it as well. Thanks!

  • Where would be the best place to install a bat house on your home?

I know it should be in at least 8 hrs of direct sunlight as they like warm nesting areas..but not sure how high on the home I should place it. I also heard they are good to cut down on insect population and we live near a pond with LOTS of mosquitos which they love. We frequently get bats in the summertime and love to come out at night and fly around. I hope I'm doing some good by investing in one :-)

  • Is it possible for someone to be in the attic (or animal) even though there is no obvious way to get in?

I hear noises when I'm in our master bedroom and bathroom, like someone is right above me and trying to be quiet-no kidding. I have passed it off as maybe the wind since we live in a high wind area, but find it odd that the wind would shake the roof to sound as if someone(think) is balancing on the rafters??? I don't see how anything(one) can get into our attic as it's unused and we have cathedral ceilings. It is really freaky and want to find out but not sure how to get up there since there is no access! We have bats in the area but this sounds like significant weight being put on one or more rafter beams and seems to always be where I am at!

  • Is there a way you can tell if one of your facebook friends is creating fake profiles to talk to you?

Say if someone who is your friend but not a close friend, makes another fake profile and pretend to be someone else, is there a way to tell if it's coming from the same IP address?

  • Any reasonably priced clothing stores for tall junior girls?

I know of Delia's, Kohl's, among others online and don't want to pay over $50 for tall inseam pants. My daughter doesn't like jeans, but loves the velour and yoga pants, along with dressy casual or kakhis. Her inseam would be a 34-36 as she is 5'9" and only 13. Thanks if you can help :-)
