Why did the Obama administration insert itself into the Trayvon Martin protests?

I have stayed away from some of the questions involving this issue. Kind of biding my time and watching. I think it was Florida's business, the county this happened in. I don't think a president should have gotten into it and the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, yikes. Do we have to make everything that happens to an "innocent" black person a racial crusade and get the entire country wound up about it? So, are we going to start the white brigade and whenever a black person now commits some crime against a white person, shall we now start a huge racial war? Please.

I do kind of think that this guy went way overboard and overreacted. He probably should be in jail, but did it take a lynch mob to make this happen and all sorts of commentary and whatnot? Did it take the blacks vs. the whites thing to be brought fourth on all the media shows? Do we have to drag this through discussion time and time again? Then the "wronged" family all over the airwaves making accusations and whatnot? That does not bring that poor boy back to life.

I find myself wondering if people have actually profited in some way over this now?

I feel for this family. I wouldn't care if the child killed was white, black or other. I care that someone shot an innocent kid. I care that justice is done. But, I leave it at that and I am not allowing myself to get on the defensive as a republican against democrat or a white against black or a gun owner (I am not one) against a non-gun owner.

This country has gone way too far lately and we have bigger fish to fry, and certainly our president surely does.

With that, I am done making my commentary about this and I am so sorry this boy was killed.

Because Obama hated his mother and grandmother who were white and because he went to a church that believes white people are oppressors thus Oboma hates white people unless they are communist or Muslims.

You seem to think that means they organized the meetings, initiated the protests, and gave them pointers on how to protest.

If they, instead, gave them advice on how to keep a protest from turning into a violent lynch mob, or a riot, and gave them pointers on how to work with local police and authorities to prevent the protest from turning into an ugly confrontation, then I think there's nothing wrong with that.

In any case, if it's the latter, which I do suspect, then they "inserted itself" to prevent things from getting out of hand, which is EXACTLY the mandate of this branch of the DOJ, as you described it.

So, what's the problem?

Good question. As a liberal Harvard law professor said, it will not stand. Apparently we now arrest people based on public opinion, not evidence or facts. But that's fine. Just do not want to hear any whining when the unintended consequences come back to bite these people in the butt, as it always does.
