I have damaged hair problems...?

Alright, so I'm asian, and my hair used to be silky straight and smooth.

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it got to be sort of curly and damaged, and now when I wash it, it dries all poofy-like. It's really irritating.

I don't think it's puberty, and neither of my parents have the curly gene. What else could have caused this? and how could I fix it? It's really bringing me down because it looks terrible, most of the time.

I've tried leave-in conditioners, hot oil treatments, moisturing shampoos, more conditioners, hair masks... but nothing seems to be working. It's been like this for about two years.

PLEASE HELP?

It's a fact that your hair texture changes every 5-7 years,

so once you may have had silky smooth hair, but it can change drastically over a period of time.

If it looks damaged, I would suggest getting it cut. Damaged hair can't be mended by products, that just creates a temporary seal over the hair cuticle. The best way to cure damaged hair, is to cut it, either a large amount at once or slowly getting trims.

Minimize heat usage, and use a heat protectant if heat is necessary.

Be careful of how many products you put in your hair, this can overtime make your hair dry.

If you've been using sulfate-free shampoos, look into the PH level that company uses. Often times, sulfate-free shampoos (while have a huge hype for being 'amazing for hair') actually dry out hair because the PH levels are higher than what hair is made to handle.

Talk to your hair stylist, as well. :)

Good luck, and have a lovely day

    xx

I recommend you a kit that contains some products that work amazingly to get healthy hair, it's Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment Kit. This kit contains some products that help strengthen the hair that's prone to breakage, smooth the hair and form a protective mist on surface against heat damage, reduce Frizz and help prevent further damage, leave hair healthy, shiny and resilient and provide heat protection. Check it out at http://www.safrons.com/pro-naturals-moroccan-argan... . Hope this helps and good luck. :D
