My daughter's pediatrician recommended Vit D drops while I was breastfeeding, he also recommended a supplement for me. He is a Naturopath and believes in using natural remedies to prevent and treat illnesses and he told me that Vit D is the best flu prevention there is and we should both take it during flu season at the very least. I started her on the drops when she was about 2 months old and she still takes a supplement to this day (she's 4). Never had a flu shot, never had the flu. And she's in full-time day care with kids who get the live virus vaccine and I work in a pharmacy. I don't know if she's just lucky or if it actually works, but either way I'm going to continue.
I wouldn't do the fluoride drops though, too much fluoride is really bad for you. The AAP recommends not using a fluoride supplement before the age of 6 months and that breastfed babies actually don't need one.

My doctor did the same thing but the drops seemed to make my daughter lethargic so the doctor said I can also make sure she gets 20-30 minutes of sunlight a day. We take daily walks and I have her swing next to the window to make sure she gets enough.

i think its a good idea. most ppl dont have enoguth vit d anyways, much less if you are giving all yours to your breastfeeding baby, and that probably isnt enought anyways. So a godo multi vitamin is probably best and make sure you are taking prenatal vitamins the ENTIRE time you are breastfeeding, u need them still.
