I turn 21 on a Saturday and the DMV is closed... can I still use my old license to go drink?

The old license doesn't expire for another month or so, so it is still valid. I live in Colorado if that is helpful at all. My sister had trouble with some bars that just don't serve alcohol to anyone with an ID that is horizontal (in CO, anyone under 21 has a horizontal license and anyone over 21 has a vertical one). Will I have any problems with going bar hopping on my birthday?

no, not at all. They have flash lights for a reason, and they will check the date on your ID. Im sure you will be fine.

Go Friday and they will give it to you. I know several people that have done that.

@bl0cks- what state are you in? Every state I know make a person get a new license at 21 (5 year expire) and most have gone to different license at 21

If it is nott expired then you should be able to. I'd call a couple of bars to ask and make sure. If they won't let you, you can go to the DMV friday and they will give you a temporary (paper) new license.
