Are there more dead people in the world, or are there more living people?

Sure, a lot of people have died, but now there are over 7 billion living ones. That is a lot of live people. About how many have died, altogether?

Update:

Great answer, Louie O. Thank you!

there would be more dead. over the years, many people died each year in history, according to one survey, 8.78 deaths per 1,000 people a year. so, over a course of several billion years, there'd be more dead than alive. like, in china. since its the most populated, everyone is cremated

The ratio of Living Currently to Dead before, is still outnumbered by the dead, but I can see the world having so many people eventually that the living might outnumber the dead.

There have been about 106 billion people in human history; 6.8 billion of whom are currently alive.

    106 -

    6.8

    = 99.2 billion dead people
