Can I get my college scholarship money early?
Hello, I've earned plenty of scholarship/grant/financial aid money towards college and have almost all of it (tuition, books, fees, housing, etc) paid off for all four years.
But I was wondering if there was any way I can get the money from one of the scholarships right now. I'm still a senior in high school with three weeks left of my year. I was going to go ahead and use the money to buy the laptop I'm going to use all through college.
Thank you for your help!
That makes sense. Alright, thanks!

No. The date they give you the money is already set - they don't want to see anyone going off and buying a laptop now and not showing up for the first day of college having already spent the money. Wait to buy.

It is too early to receive the excess funds that were over the cost of your tuition and fees. Some schools have disbursement dates set as early as 10 days before classes start. Other have dates set a few months into the semester. Some schools offer short term advances, but this is usually during the add/drop period.
