How did you feel about Dragon Ball Evolution?

There is a new Dragon Ball Z movie being made in the process named " Dragon Ball Z: Saiyan Saga ". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgyB08R6gIs&feature...

This movie is being produced by a small production company called K&K Productions, it is being made by actual real fans of the series. Because they are small they are asking for donations in order to fund the project, from what I had gathered from the information I got I put in my own "two cents" and from my experience with the previous Dragon Ball movie I would glady throw in and help make a serious live action Dragon Ball film. If there are any fans up for it and would like to see Dragon Ball be taken a little seriously, then raise those hands and add to it like you'r contributing to the best fan made spirit bomb ever created.

Now I know many of you Dragon Ball fans have seen evolution, including myself, I would really like to know what you REALLY thought about Hollywoods take on Dragon Ball and you'r thoughts on the choices they made for the characters or do you think a live action Dragon Ball film would look just plain ridiculous to you. I would really like to know where most fans stand on this subject.

I really do hope there are still a couple fans out there who would like to see a live action Dragon Ball film be taken seriously, and it would be really awesome if we could all contribute to it, it would be like the fans very own spirit bomb and we can shove it up in Holywoods.....uh I mean shove it in their faces and show them how a real Dragon Ball film should be handled.

Update:

@Ashelia, You have all the right to be suspicous I too have the same concerns, but given that these guys are actual fans I'd seriously give them some leeway at least for actually TRYING to get look-a-likes, something that evolution FAILED horribly in. (oh hey bulma has a streak of blue in her brown hair, so it's okay, now let's give her another personality entirly.)

besides the video is just showing what they can do, which choreography and aesthetic wise was ALOT BETTER than the whole of evolution.

I have no problems with a modern take on the series but not whatever the hell Evolution was. It was obvious that the creators knew what DB was and still CHOSE to f**k over the story. I can handle a badly made movie by clueless people but not a blatant middle finger to the series. It wasn't just a bad DB movie, it was a terrible f**king movie in general. The script, acting and over the top effects were horrible. The entire thing seemed like a joke but everyone was so serious which made it 10x worse. Over 60+ million fans in America alone and not one person stopped this? WHAT THE F**K!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!

With the fan project, I'm concerned about them taking it too seriously by having some actors look exactly like the ones in the show. Real life copies aren't always needed, just an actor who clearly represents the characters. Like Nappa is a super fast 6FT+ super heavyweight bodybuilder but his actor isn't exactly that as they rightfully picked a more realistic Nappa. So why does Vegeta have ridiculous looking hair instead of more sensible hair? Those types of decisions worry me but a lot of people care about exact appearance more than anything.

I also worry about the precision of techniques taking a back seat to looks. Yamcha looks the part but he did Sokidan wrong, that's a huge problem if they're going for accuracy. These are my only issues so far and I do look forward to the costumes.

I wish them luck but like a lot of fan projects I feel this might be not have the creative sensibilities needed to make it respectably believable. It's early though and at least they clearly love the series enough to do this.

    tl;dr I'm a picky b*tch.

Edit: I'm not discrediting their efforts, I just want the best of their efforts even more so because they clearly care. We already have live action DB movies that have looks down but not the acting, personality, technique or drive to make it believable. I wish them the best but hope that the fans don't get too caught up in looks and compensation for Evolution to ignore everything else that makes Dragon Ball what it is.

Words cant express how awful that movie was. I hope the director never makes a movie again. im pretty sure the movie wasnt very high budget but if it cant be done right on a certain budget then dont make the movie at all. the make up and special effects was awful. they didnt look anything like the real characters. and why was goku white and everybody else asian? the script was horrible too. the movie all around sucked ballz.
