What does this code on my car mean?
I own a 1999 mazda 626 4 cylinder automatic car. I just recently replaced the cat. Converter and now my check engine light turned on. The code is P1131. There are a bunch of things listed on the paper from autozone but the main one is an oxygen sensor. Is it this? Or is it one of the other things listed like a leaking injector, engine vac leak, engine mechanical condition. Help i dont know what to do. Could you also give me an idea on cost.
Thank you so much.

Your problem is this, the code is the oxygen sensor , reason being is the new Cat. Converter. The computer recognized the old one but does not recognize the new one so you are getting a jumble of codes. To remedy this remove the positive battery cable then replace it , now drive your car for about 5 miles at between 50 and 55 mph so your computer will reset and recognize the new part. Recheck the codes if the oxygen sensor needs replacing do that and repeat the process wso your computer recognize the new part. It can be time consuming finding that one part that's the real problem. An oxygen usually runs around $100.00 depending on where you buy the part , type of car and how much the labor is. The part is around $100.00

in case you're taking it to a factors keep or a mechanic they'd have the capability to examine it and supply you a greater appropriate thought of what the codes modern-day propose. uncomplicated issues that turn on a examine engine easy incorporate o2 sensors, MAP/MAF sensors, if it relatively is working tough it's going to in all risk have a misfire code or 2 in there. On some autos if the Catalytic Converter is plugged up it is going to set a code besides. 9 situations out of 10 if the sunshine is on however the vehicle isn't working poorly it relatively is a sensor it relatively is long gone undesirable and that they are no longer too undesirable to interchange. yet relatively staggering is to get it scanned with the help of a device that exhibits the quite situation particularly of purely the hardship code.

This code means that the O2 sensor is reporting an error. It doesn't mean the O2 sensor is bad but it could be.
Anything that could cause a improper fuel mixture can cause this and usually with a '99 it means you need a tune-up. New spark plugs and probably spark plug wires. The O2 sensor can be checked with an ohm meter.

It may be the O2 sensor but you really need to have it diagnosed by someone with a good scan tool and who also has the diagnostic proceedure to see if it is really the problem or you'll just end up playing "diagnostic darts" and wasting a whole bunch of money on stuff you don't really need.
