Will my Iomega 250 mg zip drive work with Windows 7?

I just ordered a new Lenovo Thinkpad laptop with Windows 7 Professional operating system. My old desk top is a Dell 8250 that uses Windows XP. I also recently bought an external IOMEGA 250 MG zip drive hoping to be able to use it to transfer files from my old to new computer. I believe I also ordered the ability to run in Windows XP mode with my new Windows 7 computer (which I won't get for a few weeks yet). Will the IOMEGA external zip drive work on my new laptop?...if so, how do I get it to do so? I believe the laptop comes with usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 ports and some others. Thanks.

I hope that Zip drive was cheap. 250 megs is not a workable option, and it would be painfully slow.

A USB memory stick would be faster and cheaper, or a router and putting your computers on the same network. Or a USB cable.

    Or an external USB HDD.

As far as working, it's USB, you should be cable to just plug it in.

I'm curious why you would need to since USB flash drives can hold a heck of a lot more data in a much smaller space than an unreliable mechanical disk.

250 megs isn't a whole lot of storage space any more but to answer your question, yes if the iomega is a usb connection than it should work with your new laptop.
