About 4 1/2 years ago I was talked into buying, by my broker at the time, a position in Mark Yusko's 'The Endowment Fund'. This is a fund of hedge funds. He told me that it would give me good diversification. Well, it tanked with the market and I have lost about 9-10% over about a 4.5 yr period. It pays no dividends. I just compared its performance from 2/1/8 until the end of July 2012 with DIA (dow), TLT (bond etf) PRPFX (The Permanent Portfolio..originally created by Harry Browne) and AGG, another bond ETF and The Endowment Fund (TEF) has underperformed all of them. TEF is negative around 9-10%, while al these others are now pretty much double digit % positive (including the dividends they pay).

I would appreciate advice from those in the know about this or these kinds of investments. Should I hold onto this thing, or eat the loss and sell it? Regarding selling it, unfortunately I can only do so when they periodically send me the paperwork to do so which is quarterly. It is not flexible like a stock.

Why do people in America have to pay an import duty tax on goods purchased from oversees to protect American businesses, but American businesses do not have to pay a foreign import duty of foreign labor to protect American workers? This seems unjust and unfair. Giving American jobs to Indians, for example, whose cost of living and education in India is a fraction of what it costs here in America will/is leading to the end of America as we know it in my opinion.

I have been this drug for several years now as it was prescribed by my doctor, along with metoprolol for high blood pressure.During the past several months, I've been more sleepy/groggy than usual throughout the day. I read on my health provider's website that having to get up several times a night to urinate can cause sleep apnea, and that sleep apnea can be a cause of my feeling groggy. I've also read that it is well known that diuretics (which Hydrochlorothiazide is) will make you urinate more often. I am scheduled to take a sleep apnea test in a couple of weeks to see if I have it (don't yet know that I do). If I do, can this diuretic be the cause? Note, I was already tested and told that I don't have anemia. The neurologist I spoke with made no mention of this diuretic being a possible cause..yet.

The other day I checked Amazon.com for this product. Last year, I bought it there for around $24/bottle. When I checked, all the sellers were asking for around $82/bottle. I checked today...now it is $52/bottle. What is going on with this? I wound up buying some Equate for a fraction of the price. Both are acetaminophen. Anyone know what the story is with Tylenol. I know they had a recall awhile back.

I currently have been taking 2-4 650 mg caplets of Tylenol (per doctor's) recommendation, for arthritic back pain. I just checked Amazon to buy more and their price for 290 caplets of 650 mg Tylenol HAS MORE THAN TRIPLED SINCE I BOUGHT IT LAST YEAR!!..They want $79 for 1 bottle of 290 caplets!!!

After looking further, I found a brand called Equate that says it can be compared to Tylenol (also 650 mg)..FOR LESS THAN 1/3 THE PRICE OF TYLENOL!!..

Anyone know anything about this Equate brand? How does it compare?

I was laid off from my place of employment at age 50. That was about 8-9 years ago. After looking for a job intensely for over 5 years, I gave up. Age discrimination in American corporations became quite clear to me. Also, about 75% of the tech people I interviewed were Indian, 15% Oriental, and the small remainder appeared to be white American. What really eats my craw is that about 99.9% of the head hunters that try to contact me are probably Indian, judging by their names..most of which I can't pronounce, except the easier ones like Deepak this and Prakish that...and Kumar whatever.

What has happened to America?

In the past few days I've noticed a roundish discoloration splotch on the underside of my left wrist. It appears to be kind of purple/brown in color and is about the size of the end of a pencil eraser. It appears to be flat. I currently do not feel it. I'm not sure it is just a black and blue mark (I don't recall hitting my wrist against anything to cause it). It is about 1/4 inch in diameter.

Should I seek to get this looked at by a doctor or should I wait awhile..if so , how long? It it is a black and blue mark, how long should I expect it to take to go away. I'm nearly 60 and haven't had a black in blue mark that I can recall since I was a kid. I first noticed it about 1-2 days ago.

I did my 2011 taxes (and prior years) on my 8-10 year old Dell desktop which used Windows XP. I recently bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad w520 that uses Windows 7 (i believe 64 bit). How do I copy my 2011 tax program and files to my new computer so that when I get Turbotax next year for 2012, I will be able to retrieve all my appropriate tax data from 2011? I just tried copying the files to a flash drive and putting them on my new computer but that doesn't seem to work.

Also..what is the name of the specific file that need from 2011 that will be accessed by Turbotax 2012 ? Thanks.

I just got a new laptop and just installed Firefox 12.0. How do I copy my Firefox bookmarks from my old computer which also has Firefox 12 to my new computer? thx.

I just ordered a new Lenovo Thinkpad laptop with Windows 7 Professional operating system. My old desk top is a Dell 8250 that uses Windows XP. I also recently bought an external IOMEGA 250 MG zip drive hoping to be able to use it to transfer files from my old to new computer. I believe I also ordered the ability to run in Windows XP mode with my new Windows 7 computer (which I won't get for a few weeks yet). Will the IOMEGA external zip drive work on my new laptop?...if so, how do I get it to do so? I believe the laptop comes with usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 ports and some others. Thanks.

Women are supposedly equal, but this only appears to be so when it comes to things that benefit them like

job, money, voting, etc. So how come only men have to register for the draft but not women? Why are men disposable in war and not women? Don't tell me it is because 'men are stronger'...because that is nonsense. If that were a viable thing, then they should only draft strong muscular men, maybe football players?..and not weaker men...but all men have to register...or be fined and jailed. But women get away scott free.

Men, how do you like this? Women are considered equal with men when

it benefits them, like with job, education, pay, voting, etc. But when it comes

Seems very unjust to me. Any real opinions on this?

I am currently around 59. Should my doctor be giving me an electrocardiogram on a regular basis as part of my yearly exam? I ask this because I have a friend who has a different healthcare provider than I do and he told me that he is given one every year (he is around 62-63). My provider has yet to give me one (I didn't ask). My friends last electrocardiogram found something was off and he is currently getting more in depth testing.

It didn't work for me at around 11 am pst this morning. It still doesn't work for me and it is after 9 pm pst now. I believe that msn is having server problems. Is anyone else still unable to use their msn email account?

Anyone notice this? I also sometimes see women with a disability with a man but I can't recall seeing a disabled man with a woman?...I mean...in public. It also appears that most women have men throwing themselves at them but not the other way around. It appears to be a one way street with men on a leash, so to speak. Any opinions from men out there on this?

They just recently opened a new IHOP near me (I live in Southern California). Today I ordered a spinach/mushroom omelette which comes with a small bowl of chopped fruit.It didn't come with any toast so I also ordered an English Muffin. A glass of water was my drink. I was shocked when I got the bill.With tax, but without tip , it was over $14. It was over $15 with tip. I was expecting the omelette price to be around $7.99 or $8.99. ( I didn't recall what it said in the menu). Certainly can't eat there every day at that rate.

According to the stats I read, over 50% of marriages end in divorce. Of these, about 90% are instigated by the woman. I have several friends who are divorced and paying paying paying. I have one friend in particular whose wife cheated on him, divorced him, and ran away with another man. The courts still made HIM pay her alimony and child support. The alimony part continued until she married the other man. The courts also are making him give her half his retirement pension. She continues to get paid from him and he gets NOTHING...And..being a man, in America..if he gets lonely..he has to continue, chase, beg compete and pay for another woman. Seems like a ripoff to me and extremely unfair.

What do you think? Anyone out there have a similar experience?

I thought age discrimination was ILLEGAL, yet it is obviously rampant in America. If they really wanted to, the govt could crack down on this...as it would BE EASY TO FIND AND IDENTIFY. All they'd have to do is have their own workers..both young and older apply for jobs, go on interviews, etc...and statistically, they could find it. I know age discrimination exists because I've experienced it.
