Seniors: Do you paint, draw, sketch...?.?

I did paint, both with oils and acrylics, never learned water colors. I drew with pencil or charcoal, was pretty good. Could never draw from my minds eye, had to have a model or picture to look at. I dave all but one of my paintings away, Wish I'd kept some. I prefer realism, some call it photographic painting, but that is not what I would strive for, I just wanted the fact I was sketching to look like and easily identified who I was sketching. I was actually pretty good, put it off too much and now have lost my chance to do well because of vision. I may give it another try though.

I took art all the way thru school and was urged to attend an art school anywhere I chose, but I wasn't interested then. I have a natural eye for balance, color and arrangment and am good at decorating anything. But I do not paint, sketch or sculpt anymore.

I'm a technical illustrator by trade, so yes, I guess I'm artistic. But I do that on the computer. Good with pen/ink/pencil but I'd really like to take some classes in water color. I'm fascinated by old buildings and like to sketch them.

One area where i have absolutely no talent is music and I so wish that I did. I'm envious those who can sing or play an instrument. What a gift!

I have only two artistic talents and they are writing and playing the piano/organ/keyboard. I couldn't draw water from a well with a wet vac! Decorate a cake? No, but I sure can attack one with a fork!

I once had an intestinal disorder that meant prolonged periods in the bathroom. One day, to abate the boredom, I took a pencil and pad in w/ me. I began to sketch my surroundings. I was stunned by the results. I shared my "art" w/ others and they strongly encouraged me to continue. Eventually, I filled a sketchbook up. Some of the images made me proud.

I've also recorded vocals w/ Ron Satterfield. He was fairly well known on the San Diego music circuit.

I produced some songs on my own back when I had the equipment. I know "Scotland suzie" has heard me sing.

I just did a search for Ron ... I know the following is him because it verifies he worked w/ Lori Bell. I never met her but I bought music equipment f/ her through Ron.

Come to think of it, I was paid to do stand up comedy too ... does that count?

I can arrange flowers in a vase, but not with finesse. Plop, they're in. lol. I used to play a little guitar, but didn't get really good at it. I guess, I'm not an artistic person. I started gardening last year, but failed at that too. I'm a failure, what can I say. boo hoo.

I was an Art major in high school. I have a small studio in my home where I like to play. My talent lies mainly in cartooning. I draw to amuse myself.

I sincerely doubt I ever could have made a living from this :-}.

I've always loved art and dabbled in it, oils,acrylics,T shirts,was never drawn to water colour until recently,my artist sil showed me some special watercolour paper ,don't know what it's called, but it's somewhat unpredictable ,and you never really know exactly what the results will be, getting,and using this paper is my next project.thanks for the question, you just put a cracker up my bum, will try to get going TOMORROW !...to late now,it's 10pm...

I paint, flower arrange, sew, play piano, sing, cake decorate and decorate for weddings.

I can't draw a straight line with a ruler. No I am as boring as a drill bit. I played a kazoo in the third grade.
