JSA When Will I Be Paid?
I had my New Jobseekers Interview on Wed 11th Apr 2012 and signed on for the first time today Wed 25th Apr 2012 (2 weeks), when should I receive payment in my bank? I had assumed it would be 3 days after my initial interview but I guess not. I also have had no confirmation letter yet telling me my claim has gone through, is this normal?

It doesn't take 4-5 weeks for a claim to be processed. At most you would need to wait 14 days to recieve your first payment.
Your payment will be in your account on Monday morning and it should be around the full 2 weeks (sometimes they don't pay you for the first 3 days of your claim) because JSA is paid in arrears and your first signing day was actually the day you attended your interview.
Because it is paid in arrears (i.e. the period you provide job search evidence for) and your claim only starts from the first date you contact them, if you have 3 days of no JSA you wouldn't have been entitled to anything until this week.
If there is no money in your account on Monday call JSA on the benefit helpline and request an emergency payment. They can often pull your claim out and make payment before it is fully processed.

It takes around 4 or 5 weeks for an initial claim to be processed. However, once this has gone through, if you're signing on a Wednesday, you should receive your payment on the following Monday
