My dad, who's 71, needs emergency laser treatment on his eyes. His treatment is on this coming Tuesday. He's having it done on the NHS but will he be charged for it?, he's in no position to afford anything. I'm wondering do they let you know beforehand or after the surgery?... he doesn't want any nasty surprises. Bare in mind that no Dr has mentioned anything about costs or anything so far.

Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated...

With big ISP's in the USA (verizon, at&t, comcast etc..) now adopting this "six strike" system I'm wondering have any of you had these alerts yet, and if so has it deterred you from downloading copyright material using torrent (p2p) networks?... or what do you guys think about it and are you scared? Would you consider moving to an ISP smaller and less well known to escape it?

A guy gives you a gun and says shoot a chicken dead, he says if you don't shoot it then he will shoot 10 chickens, what would you do?

I installed a 750w power supply in my PC and I've noticed it has this metallic like "new car" smell, is this normal or should I send it back? The system seems to be running fine.

I wonder if anybody that's experienced in installing hardware can help me. So I bought a new PSU to replace the one that had gone bad, on my motherboard I have 2x4pin 12v ATX sockets. The PSU only has 1x4pin 12v ATX cable. My question is which socket do I plug this cable into?, the socket next to the 20pin or the one the other end of the motherboard, would it make a difference?... and also is one cable enough or do I need to fill the two sockets?... I'm assuming the socket is to supply power to the CPU?...

any and all help would be much appreciated...

so today I decided to open up my pc, clean it out and remove the graphics card etc... somewhere along the line I lost a screw and went underneath the motherboard, I've tried to get it out but can't seem to do it but can hear it rattling. Would this short out the motherboard or dangerous?... I really don't want to remove the whole motherboard to get it out is there something I can do?...

I am now 36 years of age and have been a meat eater all my life. Although I love the taste of meat I hate the way it makes me physically feel and as a consequence my health is suffering. I've always wanted to lead a healthier lifestyle and feel it's time I made a big change in my life and became vegetarian.

What I want to know is any basic information other vegetarians can give me?, things like how can I make sure I get all the proteins and vitamins I need for healthy living, what tasty things can I make so I don't miss meat so much?, basically anything a new vegetarian needs to know.

Does anybody know of a text editor where I can search for a word and it will find every instance of that word in the text, highlight the line of text that contains that word and allow me to copy just those highlighted lines in all one go?

I often create tutorial videos for Youtube about security issues and I like to use soundtracks as a backdrop. I know there are places where I can download free music legally and use them in my projects, I am also aware that Youtube provides an "Audioswap" feature that I can use. But sometimes I just want to use a commercial, copyrighted music track. I know that Youtube has partnered with a lot of major music companies that will allow you to legally use some commercial tracks in your videos as long as you content-match it and allow advertisements. One video I did used "Clubbed to Death (matrix version)" by Rob Dougan and that was allowed. What I'm asking is where can I find a list of music partners and if possible songs that I can use legally as long as I accept advertisements on my videos?... any help would be appreciated.

I have been on JSA for about 4months and in that time I have applied for various jobs. There was one job I applied for and got an interview but on reviewing the job again I decided that actually it's not fitting what I want to do, do I have to go to the interview?... this is not a job I had to apply for through the Jobcentre but one on-line I applied for myself... can they actually check up on it?... I'd rather go to an interview for a job I really want to do. Every job they offered in the Jobcentre I applied for but so far I have heard nothing back.

I help people to remove BHO's/Toolbars/Search Engine hijackers from peoples computers (Searchnu, Babylon, Incredibar etc..) and I know that these kinds of things hide in certain freeware programs. Does anyone know of a list of freeware that contains these kind of pests?... I still want to do a few more (like isearch claro, conduit etc...) but don't really know where to download them to infect my test lab.

Hi... so I signed on yesterday (jsa) at 2pm usually my sign on time is 9:30-10:00am but I had to see my personal adviser that day and she had me sign at that time. Because I sign in on a Wednesday my money doesn't usually go in until Monday the following week (3 working days) but I checked my bank pending transactions online today and there are no BACS statement on there, so my question is how long does this usually take to show up under pending transactions?... should I phone them up?.. thnx.

I had my New Jobseekers Interview on Wed 11th Apr 2012 and signed on for the first time today Wed 25th Apr 2012 (2 weeks), when should I receive payment in my bank? I had assumed it would be 3 days after my initial interview but I guess not. I also have had no confirmation letter yet telling me my claim has gone through, is this normal?
