What would you do?... moral question.?

Can you expand a little on the circumstances in which this threat is being made?

Has this person accosted me in the street with a chicken? Brought the chicken to my home?

Sounds as if whatever the circumstances he is liable to arrest for harassment, threatening behaviour, behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace, and possibly trespass or breaking and entering.

What would I do? I'd explain that I don't give in to blackmail, and that the responsibility for any killings he subsequently carries out will be his, not mine, and tell him to piss off. If he refused, I'd call the police.

I live in a country where gun ownership is very strictly controlled, so he would probably leave quickly

There's also the question of the mental health of anyone who would approach others making such threats - there would other authorities it would be prudent to report this to.

Are there two guns? I would need that info. Where are we that there are 11 chickens? I would need that info as well. Are we on a farm? Is the farmer around? Does he have a gun? What is the weather like? What time of day is it? Did I know this person before this situation?

I'd ask if I can help him shoot the other 10 chickens. After i've dealt with the first one.

Shoot the chicken. in the head. it wont hurt it and if you shoot it in the head then you can eat the rest of it. therefore it wont go to waste

Kinda reminds me of the government. They tax the crap out of one person to 'help' the 10 lazy ones. I really don't care what that guy does with his chickens. As long as they have a swift death and a happy life before it. If they lived a happy life I would probably pay the guy for the chickens. I don't like industrialized farming so if he treated his chickens well before he killed them I would pay for the meat and the bones so I could make stock and chicken dishes.
