JSA - What jobs can they check up on?
I have been on JSA for about 4months and in that time I have applied for various jobs. There was one job I applied for and got an interview but on reviewing the job again I decided that actually it's not fitting what I want to do, do I have to go to the interview?... this is not a job I had to apply for through the Jobcentre but one on-line I applied for myself... can they actually check up on it?... I'd rather go to an interview for a job I really want to do. Every job they offered in the Jobcentre I applied for but so far I have heard nothing back.
@Hiddenmyname yes it would because I would be in a job I have no interest in doing... I would rather get a job I want to do than waste mine and the companies time. Thanks for your response but my question is, can they check on a job I have applied for on-line?

sigh, this is like teaching the basics of life, just pretend to be sick on the day prior to your interview and call in sick so they don't interview you - consequently you don't get the job.
JSA is a bit like being in school, you can play it like you did when you were a kid. Remember those times when you did not want to go to school and pretended to be ill in the mornings? Same thing here only you have to pretend to be sick the DAY BEFORE the interview.
Get it? Got it? good.

They can check - it doesn't matter whether the job was advertised through them or not, but they only would if they have good reason to think that you have been trying to cheat the system. The jobs they advertise are not usually anything to do with the jobcentre - sometimes the employer ask the JC to take the applications just for ease, but otherwise all the JC get is the job advert and they don't automatically know who has applied or not. So if they had their doubts that you were actually looking for work then they could ask you to provide proof, e.g. the email acknowledging your application, or in extreme circumstances they can ring the employer and ask them. But as long as you are genuinely looking for work and have many other job applications to show, then this one particular job won't matter that much.
If I were you I would still go for the interview, it's such valubale experience and will take the pressure off and be god practice for when you have an interview for a job you want. Also, there must have been a reason you applied for that job in the first place, so take the opportunity to ask them more questions about the role just to be sure it's not for you. And as far as the government is concerned, it doesn't matter that this is not your 'perfect' job, it's a job, it will pay the bills and get you off benefits, so if they do offer you it, suck it up and do it - it will fill a gap in your CV, give you a reference, give you something to do and stop you being on the dole. Calling it a waste of time is insulting to the taxpayer (and I was unemployed for ages, before you go off on me!).

The Jobcentre will only know about jobs you have mentied applying for at your signing on or jobs they have told you to apply for. Any others the Jobcentre will no nothing about but obviously not apply will mean less on your signing book and if you have told them you have applied you will need to notify them of the outcome or they may check.
If they find out you have turned down a job interview or job offer they can sanction you for up to 6 months although 2 weeks is most likely. You won't recieve any benefit or government help in that period but you will need to still sign on or your claim will be closed.
Unfortunately JSA is temporary and only there to support you until you find a job, not unti you find a job in the career you want. You need to accept any job you find and then continue to loko for better jobs while you work, it will actually be easier to get a good job while you work in another one than while you are on JSA. An amployer will see you will take on any work which is good.
So no, unless you have mentioned it they won't know to check so if you want to play the system you can do that. You do need to apply for jobs they give you or they will sanction your claim. They wil contact the employer or the employer will need to return a list to say who shows up to interview in those cases.

Should you imply you may have already had a letter inviting you to an interview then yes, they wil have already got checked your bank bills totally along with mostly every other facet ofy our life! You might be anticipated to prove the things youw ere selling were yours so if, for instance, you bought 3 PS3s they'd be questioning your legitimacy! If you happen to mean would they investigate it they'll do so for the duration of any investigation, you're going to now not find out about it except they notify you and have enough evidence to take it additional. So the solutions is yes, they can legally examine your financial institution account.

I would go for the interview anyway. It'll be good practice and if you dont get the job at least you showed willing. Would it be such a bad job to do whilst looking for something better?
