Weight Lifting and Soccer?
During the winter i was weight training and making leaps of improvement. Now that soccer season has started up I have been working out as much(twice a week). I compared some pictures of myself before soccer to now and i lost a lost of my mass and seem to be more toned. Should i not lift during soccer? and what are some exercises i could do to regain mass?

Lifting weights can be a great help to your overall soccer abilities. It is just important that you lift properly. When training for soccer, running is the most important exercise you can do to improve your fitness. If you lift without running, your leg muscles will become thick, bulky, and inflexible. However, if you are running 3 or 4 days a week (or actually playing soccer) in addition to lifting legs 2 to 3 times a week, the aerobic exercise will stretch the muscles and prevent them from becoming tough and brittle. Also, make sure that you work out leg muscles proportionately. If you only do squats, your legs will be lopsided. If you only do leg curls, your hamstrings will tighten up. So, make sure you work out both the "extending muscles" (i.e. quadriceps) and the "pulling muscles" (i.e. hamstrings). A well designed hamstring workout can drastically improve your sprinting ability. Squats and lunges will improve your first step explosiveness on the field, and this will help in winning 50/50 balls in the air or on the ground. Good luck on your lifting ventures. I would suggest that you lift upper body in addition to your legs, because strength on the field is a major asset when you are trying to control the ball against a defender.

Lifting is fine while you're playing soccer. But, it's not uncommon that you lose some of the muscle mass during the season. Since soccer has a lot of running involved, your muscles are just being used differently. The mass lessens, leaving your body to be more agile and quick
