Can I use this remote to operate a tv?

I have an old (2003) Emerson tv that someone gave me. The remote was no longer with it. Now I need to use a remote to program my tv because the apartment building is rewiring for cable instead of dish. I have found an old Emerson remote that we used to use many years ago. However, it doesn't have a "Setup" or "Code" button on it. All the internet instructions say I need to use the "Setup" or "Code button to program. At the top is a button that says tv/vcr. Does this sound like something I can use with my Emerson tv? Thanks.

the remote you are trying to use wont work because it is most likely not universal you need to get a 20$ universal remote from walmart but most universal remotes only accept tvs from 2007 or higher so sorry

so if the universal remote doesn't work oh well.
