Christians, What is the Trinity?
I'm a Mormon. Everyone says we're not Christian because we have a different take on the Nature of Deity. I want to see how various Christians define the Trinity.

The terms used by the early church may be inadequate to describe God, but the general understanding of the TRINITY, of ONE GOD yet three persons, is Biblical, for indeed the THREE are ONE, indivisible.
Look closely at these Bible verses:
When Christ came to this world, He came "forth from God".
John 16.27,28
"For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father."
John 10.38
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
The Spirit also comes "forth from God".
John 15.26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,
And when the Holy Spirit comes, Christ and God the Father are also present.
John 14.16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
John 14.18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14.23
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Isaiah 9.6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 14.26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
As you read through the above texts you should notice that when ONE member of the Godhead comes, ALL THREE ARE PRESENT.
John 14:6

Some churches' concept of the trinity says that God, Jesus, and the holy spirit are all the same person because God just manifests himself into the three at different times.
But then others sound pretty much the same as what Mormons call the "Godhead"...three separate beings but one in purpose.

The Divine Persons The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are consubstantial meaning they are one Being. The Son is eternally Begotten Son of The Father's own Being, from which The Holy Spirit eternally proceeds.
The Holy Trinity is not three Gods, but one God (Being). They are one Godhead meaning The Father is not greater than The Son, The Son is not greater than The Father, The Holy Spirit is not greater than The Father and The Son, and The Father and The Son are not greater than The Holy Spirit. All three Divine Persons are equal as the Godhead because they are the same Being.

If one does not believe in the Trinity , one is not a Christian.
Holy Trinity reveals one God
The three persons of the Holy Trinity are distinct and separate: yet, they are one (Eph. 4:4–6). This gives us the mystery of the Godhead—we wonder how this can be? The Christian Church holds the doctrine of the Holy Trinity as one of their oldest beliefs (1 Pet. 1:2). As we look at the traditional teachings of the Christian Church and study the Bible, we should grow in our understanding and accept the Holy Trinity by faith (Luke 3:21, 22).
Holy Trinity—One God
The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit,
three separate Persons, and yet One.
Divine mystery beyond perception.
We look at One—We look at All.
We pray to One—We pray to All.
We love One—We love All.
One love’s us—All love us.
Father–Son–Holy Spirit—One God.
The mystery of the Holy Trinity separates the Christian Church from other religions

For the majority of Christians, the belief in the Holy Trinity implies the existence of three distinct Holy Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit being One Eternal Triune God. This doctrine and designation, however, are not shared by all Christian denominations, or the other Abrahamic religions.

I use the word Godhead to describe the three-fold position of God.
God the Father.
God the Son.
God the Holy Spirit.
They are three and one at the same time. Yes. 1+1+1 = 1
Egg whites + egg shell + egg yolk = one egg
Father + Mother + Children = One Family (One flesh)
The are three separate entities, with one purpose, one theme, and one goal (the salvation of man).
In other news....the Bible condemns speaking to the dead. Moroni was a dead spirit. That makes Joseph Smith a false prophet. Isaiah 8:19, 20. The Bible is an amazing gift. God bless you as you read it!

The Trinity is an unbiblical, inserted after the fact piece of Catholic nonsense. No one can explain the Trinity, because it doesn't make any sense, and will never make any sense.
It's not true, it's not biblical. False.

The Holy Trinity describes the triune nature of God. We have God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It attests to God's omnipresence and gives a clue to His nature.
