Sorry, took US history over the summer and planning on taking Civics/Econ over summer as well.
Philosophy is an English course.
I am in-State, and also applied for CSF. Going for NHS next year, was too busy this year.
Please note my AP Eng Comp test score. Should I still send it?

That senior year schedule does not meet UC A-G requirements since 4 years of English are required at a UC. Also might not meet requirements for US History/US Govt unless taken in 9th grade.
http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/f...
Senior (Edit)
Chem AP
Spanish AP
English Lit AP
Macro Econ AP/US Govt AP(Each is a Half Semester)
[Some Econ class is required to graduate HS in California if AP Econ is not taken. US Govt is also a required class to graduate HS in California.]
2nd Year College Calculus at a local community college-Multivariable Calculus/Differential Equations/Linear Algebra
AP Stat has diminished significance because for a science major or even an Econ major at Berkeley, the Stat class has to have Calculus as a prerequisite.
SAT Subject
Math 2: 760
Physics: 710
Chemistry: 700
Extra Currics(EDIT):
Athletics:
3 Years Track and Field
Non Athletic:
NHS/CSF
Academic Decathlon
International Youth Advancement Alliance
Future Business Leaders of America
Engineering Internship at Santa Clara University
For Berkeley and UCLA, it is probably a good idea to leave out the Badminton, Martial Arts, Mandarin Club, Dragon Boat, Iwata and Pursuit of Happiness. None of those will count for much unless a student has leadership positions and are not necessary for admission to a UC. COE is looking for relevant EC's that relate to Engineering such as the Engineering Internship. It also makes it appear that the EC's are padded when a lot is listed. Anything that identifies an applicant as an Asian to the readers is not going to elicit a more positive subjective evaluation. The readers do not have access to the name or race/ethnicity data at UC's, only know it from EC's, foreign languages studied and response to the personal prompt regarding "tell me about your world etc"
Understand UC unitary comprehensive review admission. Two readers who are mostly part time employees read the personal statements and then score an applicant a 1,2,3,4 or 5. 5 is the only score with set standards-did not meet UC minimum requirements. 1-4 are totally subjective with no set standards. As long as there is not a greater than +1 difference of scores, the scores are averaged. If there is a greater than +1 difference, a Senior reader, who is a full time employee, scores the application.
Then for L&S, major is not a consideration. If 10,000 are to be admitted, and there are 2,000 1's, all the 1's are admitted. The same goes for 3,000 1.5's and 3,000 2's. Now if there are 4,000 2.5's then not all the 2.5's can be admitted and there is further evaluation of the 2.5's and the L&S class is filled.
For COE(College of Engineering), admission is by tiers as in L&S but students are admitted to each major. EECS, Bio-Eng and Eng Undeclared are the most competitive Berkeley majors. EECS often only has enough room for all applications scored a 1, with further scoring of 1.5's.
Essentially UC admissions work as follows, the higher the API of the high school, the higher the required GPA, more rigorous the courses taken and especially the higher the required Sat or Act scores to be admitted.
Find High School at "School Reports" tab to see academic profiles of students admitted from that high school to Berkeley and UCLA. Note that at high API Schools the average of admits, not given, is higher than the average for enrollees, given.
Anyway try and get Sat scores up and Sat Subject scores for Engineering. The second year Calculus will really help with Engineering at Berkeley and also at MIT, Cal Tech, Ivy Leagues etc.
Extracurricular reading will help with English SAT scores. Even 20 minutes a day will add up. Look up unknown words in a dictionary and write down the meaning. A book like Edgar Roberts, "Writing Themes About Literature" will help with writing. Attack your weak area by taking AP English Lit and getting an A. If a student can get an A in AP Physics C without taking regular Physics, he can get an A in AP Eng Lit.
"It is strongly recommended that both Physics B and Physics C be taught as second-year physics courses......

Harvard's advice on course selection:
http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/pr...
Join NHS/CSF if available at your high school. Membership is common at highly selective universities and membership is considered a sign of academic leadership.
Spend time on the personal statements. This is where the choice of major is significant for L&S. The classes taken, proposed field of study, EC activities, future plans for grad school and life beyond college need to be able to be woven into a compelling story that is an easy read and plausible.
Good Luck!
Not a good idea to send a score of 2.

That's what talk.collegeconfidential.com is for. You know that, right?
If you're instate, you're well on your way. Bring up your SAT.
