is 1/4" mdf good enough for a subwoofer box?

i have a small single cab truck and im putting two shallow mount kicker 12s behind the seats. given the very limited space i had to work with and the mounting depth and volume required for the subs i made my boxes with 1/4" mdf on the front and back and 3/4 on the sides, with bracing on the top and sides connecting all 4 sides. i added plenty of liquid nails caulk, staples and some screws. dimensions are 13"h 24"w 7" at the bottom and 3" at the top. will these boxes be ok for my subs?

i have a feeling that you are going to have problems with that box. 1/4 inch mdf breaks easily when it is flexed.

If anything your front piece should be 3/4" MDF, because you might hit so hard that you tear the screws out. Also, it depends how much wattage you're going to be using and the type of box (whether it's ported, sealed, etc.)

well i dont think it will matter. you are not into sq cause ya bought kicker and ya bought 12s and ya gonna put em in too small of a cabinet and ya gonna be facing em directly into the seats and and and and... and staples should not be used in mdf cause it seperates the layers of fiber....shoulda went with four 8" firing under the seats.

See if you have box flex. If not then your fine.
