....Is Hypnosis Real?

Update:

I mean can it make you lose weight, learn Languages, do things you normally wouldn't or couldn't do before? Is it Ethical? I (2) Docotorates in Philosophy and I can't figure out this one.

Update 2:

I meant is it Ethical to practice, it could be easily abused. I was thinking, there was a Dentist in Poland, I think, that was dumped by her Boyfriend, and she removed all His teeth when he came in for a toothache. Something like Hypnosis, there could be no Evidence that they were influenced by another to do it. Like a Manchurian Candidate. Is it Ethical for Societies to allow it, except maybe for Health reasons, if witnesses are present. That is of coarse if it works.

Yes. But being in a hypnotic state and walking around clucking like a chicken is not.

Science has proven that no one does what they normally wouldn't do while in a hypnotic state. So if somebody does act like a chicken in a hypnotic state, they probably would do it normally, but maybe only on a dare.

Hypnosis can resolve some emotional states and help aid with breaking a habit. It all depends on the skills and respectfulness of the hypnosis. Choose carefully. If you go to a hypnotist check out their credentials, success rate and read about the process before going. For the most part nothing will happen or you will be help. It is also done for entertainment.

Yes, I think so. I'm pretty sure you can hypotize. Sometimes it mixes with your emotions and your thinking. I was told that one person told someone to close their eyes and the person said:your left arm is heavier then the right arm and the person 2 actually thought it and it ended up as the right arm more higher in the air.

it is ethical because you agree to it. you will not do something you absolutely are morally opposed to, such as sleep with the hypnotist.
