(a) actual distance = 4.5*400000 cm = 1800000 cm = 18000 m
(b) 18 km² = 18000 m² = 180000000 cm² = 180000000/160000000000 cm² on map = 18/16000 = 0.001125 cm² 0n map
2) j^2 = 3y+(h/4)y-k or
[3+(h/4)]y = j² + k or
y = [4(j² + k)]/(12+h)
