How do I mute the tones on my Samsung SGH A137 cell phone?

Please help, these little beeps every time I hit a key are driving me nuts.

    Try this:

    In Idle mode, press the Menu, then Settings, then Set Sound Profiles and press the Select soft key or the OK key. Pick the sound profile you want, then press OK.

    You can put your phone in "Silent Mode" by just holding the # sign until is says "Silent Mode". Do it again to reverse it.
