WHY WOULD OBAMA CHOOSE THE CAMPAIGN SLOGAN FORWARD?

I would imagine because he doesn't want anyone to look at the past 4 years. While I, being a conservative, obviously don't agree with his policy decisions, he can't have pleased his base either. While he loves to beat the class warfare drum, he can't alienate big business and individuals like George Soros, so it while it sounds good, there's no action behind it. Facts like him taking longer to get out of Iraq than President Bush had proposed, Gitmo still being open, warrantless wiretaps still going strong, Afghanistan still going full tilt, all these things that were such violations of American rights and sovereignty were things that he was going to end immediately. He can't afford to have his base look back at those things, so he has no option but to try and get them to look forward and to convince them that he will be the complete opposite of what he's been over the past four years.

properly, the be conscious "forward" is often linked with progression. If Santorum had gotten the GOP candidacy, he might have used "Backward" or "development a Bridge to the thirteenth Century" as his slogan.

He chooses simple slogans so his supporters can remember them.

Because it's time to move ahead instead of backwards.

Personally I think INGSOC would more appropriate for Obama.

Because he just realized that his policies have been backwards up to now and he wants us to know that he has figured it out (he thinks).

Obama is a socialist. He needs to not be re-elected or america is screwed.
