Why is everyone so fixated on Mitt being a Mormon?

Does it really matter what religion he is? Nobody should give a flying crap! Nobody cares if a president is Catholic or Protestant! Even Barry got elected with his roots in Islam! So, who cares?

It has NOTHING to do with his political platform!

Update:

Some of you are so close-minded. Who cares what someone believes spiritually? My question is not regarding his politics, for those of you who posted about his platform, I don't care what he stand for politically. That's not my question. Also, for those of you qho said "mormonism is a cult", for one, again, who cares?

I am aware of the Catholic controversy surrounding JFK. But did he put his own beliefs above his duty to his country? No! So why should Mitt be any different. I'm not saying vote for him, I just think it's really silly to base your political position of someone on their own personal beliefs.

It's a novelty for some. Others are victims of their own ignorance or bigotry. The rest of us really, really don't care.

  • That's the problem. There is NO political platform Mitt offers. There is nothing exciting about him. Sure, he has business experience but the American people have a right to question...should have a right to question...if he will bring more of the same and feed Wall Street, causing a repeat of what happened just four years ago. One should also question his stance as a person. He is a flip-flopper, so as a citizen how can I be certain that he will stand on all of the agendas he is promising as a candidate?

Another problem are people like you. Calling the president Islamic when in fact he is a Christian is why we have these polarizing issues in our country. Did we not criticize and call the president Arab when he ran? So why should people not question Mitt's mormonism? It's all apart of his character being president.

We have clowns who say "anybody but Obama", but what happens if that "anoybody" is another Bush? Can we afford that as a country? I'd rather stay with a president who has at least show progress besides risk my vote for someone who could make things worse. Mitt's 59-point plan does not make me feel confident that the country will progress any faster. Sometimes more points can be more confusing.

The facts: Jobs are coming back, the unemployment rate dropped signficanlty, we got Bin laden, we got the other terrorists...I mean is this not progress? NOTHING happens overnight. It didn't take us 4 years to get in this mess, it surely won't take four to get out. Give it time, and work WITH the president and not against him. For some reason I sense many of you just hate him for who he is and other reasons. That's just a very assinine approach.

Actually JFK has been the only Catholic President and it WAS an issue. Some people thought that he would place the Vatican's policies over the Nations.

This election is so very critical, I think that you will see a coming together of those from all faiths to elect Mitt. The other option is unthinkable.

i do no longer think of he's a jack-Mormon. there are a number of Mormons with various political and social innovations/ideals. that's something I get excitement from with regard to the Mormon church, they do no longer inform you you ought to vote this form or that way, yet inform you to inspect your heart, learn the subject concerns, and vote as you pick. there are assorted Mormons on the two factors of the political spectrum and that they are no longer appeared down upon through fact of those political innovations. additionally, in basic terms through fact somebody develop into as quickly as professional-selection, or supported gay rights, and now they do no longer, does no longer advise they seem to be a turn-flopper or something like that. in the event that they have a proof, and it is by using 3 existence-changing journey, then we ought to constantly appreciate that. each and each human beings in the time of our existence modifications our perspectives on particular issues, in lots of circumstances through fact of our reviews. we ought to constantly no longer be held to 3 static set of ideals that we as quickly as held. the actuality that he has replaced his recommendations on some issues, and has given adequate clarification, must be comforting; his ability to alter according to journey and coaching is what human beings do, and we ought to constantly value that in the time of a individual, and a ability president. does not all of us be slightly happier if President Bush wasn't so obdurate and ought to understand his blunders?

Do you know any Mormons? They are taught how to act & brainwashed to bring in members so people like Mittens can have a lot of money. They will not tell the truth. Get the dvd Divided State & you can see how open they are to YOU. They are a cult.

Romney is credulous enough to follow a religion whose roots can, with relative ease, be traced and shown fraudulent. If he's that credulous with religion, how can he be trusted with other matters?
