Can you explain the Star Wars movies to me?

One fellah answered very well and you should probably give him best answer. I'm going to answer cause I can't pass up star wars questions and hopefully I help.

Star wars has 6 movies. There are 3 originals made in the 70s and 3 prequels that are the newer versions.

Star wars is about an evil empire that controls the majority of planets in space. The plot is around a young boy named Luke who has lived on a farm his whole life. The concept is of a 'space cowboy' - As any good story goes, Luke finds himself in the middle of a war. A war between the evil empire and a ragtag group of rebels trying to take them down.

The original movies are simply about Luke using an old and lost power called 'The Force' to guide his actions. He is the son of a great Jedi Knight from the past. He is told the Evil Darth Vader murdered his father and so, Luke aids the rebellion in an attempt to wipe the empire out.

Through the original three movies, Luke becomes a vital soldier in the rebellion against the empire and it is through his actions, and the help of his friends, they finally break the Imperials apart.

The prequels are newer movies but simply tell the past.

They are simply 'back story' to a time where there were 1,000s of Jedi and no evil empire. The prequels tell the story of how the Empire rose to power and came to be. It also shows the fall of a powerful Jedi Knight named "Anakin Skywalker" who eventually gives into evil and becomes Darth Vader. It is revealed that Anakin Skywalker is Luke's father. The whole concept is to show the rise of the empire, fall of the Jedi, and what made Darth Vader become so evil.

it all began in episode 1. The jedi were doig well, unitl a sith lord named darth maul attacks them, and tries to kidnap the queen (under the order of the chancellor, who is keepin a low profile so that no one knows that he's one of the few sith lords). Anakin was a slave, and both of his parents got killed by the sand hordes. However, Anakin was freed after winning a race agaisnt sebulba. obi won and qui gon jin track down darth maul. darth maul kills qui gon, but is then killed by obi won.

In episode II, senator palpatine gets a promotion, and has to hire a new Sith apprentice named Count Dooku. Anakin from the previosu film, gets accepted into the Jedi Knight Council, and is trained by obi won. @ the end, the 2 fight count dooku, and count dooku cuts off anakin's arm. Yoda then comes into the battle and kiciks dooku's butt. Dooku then escapes in a ship, and retreats back to the deathstar.

Episode 3 beigns with senator palpatine (the sith lord in disguise to rise to power), setting up a plan to make up a story that he is being kidnapped by General Grevious, a robot sith who is actually friends w/ palpatine, but nobody knows really yet. Grievious encounters Obi Won, and is killed by Obi Won w/ a laser gun. Anakin and Padame (the queen's daughter), get married in the previous film, and have sex. Unfortunatly, Padame is having a lot of pain problems during pregnancy, leavign Anakin to feel worried that Padme might die when she gives birth. Anakin then confronts Count Dooku again, and finishes hi off w/ 2 lightsabers. Impressed by his skill, the senator palpatine tells anakin of a previous sith lord who rose to power, but then fell. Anakin returns to the jedi, only to be kicked off the jedi council by mace windu because him and yoda sensed an evil force in him. Upset by this news, anakin and mac windu then find out that the senator palapatine was actually a dark sith lord undercover, and just wants to corrupt the jedi republic. Mace windu fights palpatine, and is aboutt o kill him. However, anakin kills mace windu by cutting off his arm, and then palpatine electrocutes him out the window. Anakin did this because Palpatine promised to save Padme from dying of birth. After wards, Palpaine reveals himself as Darth Sidious, and makes Anakin his new (undercover) apprentice, giving him the name Darth Vader. Now known as Vader, Anakin goes out on missions behind obi won's back, doing evil deeds. Meanwhile, Palpatine resises to power to become the Chancellor. Obi Wo later find out that Anakin was the new Sith Apprentice, and was grived by betrayl. Obi Won and anakin fought, having obi won win as victor by cutting off anakin's arm, and burning in lava (disfiguring his face). the sith rescue anakin beofe he dies, heal him, and put on the black suit. After the project, Vader soon relaizes that Padme was dead due to birth, and having a broken heart, after anakin drops her like a bad habit. Enraged, Vader screams "NO!!!" To conclude the prequels, Vader still remained on the darkside, standing next to the emperor.

After Padme give birth to the twins, obi won and the jedi council decide to have them becoe adopted in 2 secluded areas on 2 different planets, so that the sith would not be able to find them.
