My wife is a republican and and elementary teacher in Wisconsin.?

Her union dues are being used as support the democratic governor recall vote. The union doesn''t make the teacher, the teacher makes the union, so who's in charge? If you are going to use the job/salary issue, then it would seem the issue is not about teacher's, it's about who controls teachers right?

As you said - the teachers make the union. If teachers decide they no longer have a need or want for a union, they collect petitions from their coworkers and put it up to a vote - it's the same process they went through to unionize in the first place. Union leaders are all elected by the membership, and the leaders work to protect their membership. I don't understand what issue your wife is having - if she doesn't like the union, she can start a campaign to decertify the union, or she can participate in her union to elect people with the similar views as her.

Wow- the poor woman has 3 strikes against her- being a Republican, living in Wisconsin, and being married to you! How does she stand it?

Do you have any idea what she'd be bringing home right now if it weren't for the union? Probably half what she's making now. Look into it.
