Which book should I read (Details inside)?

I need to read a book that is written for adults that once could classify as "literature" (so most books). My favorite author is Chuck Palahniuk and my favorite individual book is The Count of Monte Cristo. I'm into books that are maybe a little dark or twisted and I don't mind a love story but I don't want that to be the main plot line of the book.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Why not try "The Three Musketeers" by Alexandre Dumas?

    Hunger Games= little bit of romance+ death+ action and adventure= a truly awesome book!!
